Super lightweight!

Rocky has been my go to boots for years in my career field in Corrections. These are the best boots for the summer months because they are very comfortable and breathable for your feet. I would have given 5 stars if they had made the tongue completely from neoprene, but they didn't and it is only a thin layer of canvas. Not too bad if you don't tie the laces too tightly. I wasn't impressed with the looks of them when I opened the box, but when I wore them, the comfort more than made up for that! And though they are breathable with the side vents, I have worn them in the rain and my feet were still dry. Didn't stay in the rain for very long, though. I've worn these for two summers now and they are my favorite pair of boots for work. However, in the fall and winter I wear my Rocky Alpha Force boots. Edit: This is my third season now wearing these. They're still my favorite boots, they're still holding up. Still look new. Tread has begun to wear, but I work 12 to 16 hour shifts. Will be ordering another pair soon.

Grandma Wears Army Boots!

I'm a 61 year old woman and purchased these military boots for ME. I sprained my right ankle for the third time several months ago, surprised that the half boot I was wearing when I sprained it didn't protect me as I'd hoped. This was the worst sprain I'd endured in my lifetime and I became resolved to find a way to walk on rough paths without fear of that excruciating pain brought on by stepping in a hole and burying my ankle in the dirt! I looked at several different braces, but every single one looked cumbersome and not very protective. My youngest son, who'd been out of the Army only a couple of years, recommended the Rocky Men's Military Boot. The military spends a butt-load of money on research to protect soldiers feet from injury in some of the most adverse conditions. So it seemed right that I needed to take a look at these boots. I, of course, started my search on Amazon and found exactly what my son recommended to me. I found the price to be VERY reasonable, and the boots arrived very quickly. These footwear are not as easy to put on as ANY of my other shoes. The first challenge is to tighten the laces so they secure the foot and ankle, yet allow blood to circulate properly. With a High instep, this can be a real trick. The second challenge is to learn how much to loosen the laces when the day is done and the boots come off, leaving the boots as ready as can be made for the next days wearing. Time and repetition resolved these challenges. This granny is TOTALLY sold on wearing Army boots! I wear them ALL of the time. My feet and ankles feel secure and protected in ways I've never experienced and cannot describe. I purposely walk on uneven, uncultivated earth surfaces because it is my belief that people lose their balance because they do not challenge their balance. They walk on nice even surfaces and their balance slowly erodes until it becomes a dangerous situation. These boots allow me to feel the unevenness of the surface under my feet without pain. Because of the design, the toes are able to splay out flat as nature intended, thus again, improving balance on uneven surfaces. The ankle is fully secured, yet is able to move freely as needed when climbing or moving down a hill. If you want comfort, security and protection all at the same time, I highly recommend these boots, that were recommended to me! And yes, I wear them with a dress. I don't give a rat rip how they look...I care about my feet and ankles getting me through my later years of life! Grandma wears Army Boots!!! UPDATE: December 9, 2020 It has been almost 3 years since my purchase of these wonderful boots! The second photo is what they look like as of this writing. These are tough boots, showing very little wear and tear. I am on the fourth set of shoe laces though! Once these boots were fully 'broke in getting them on and off is a breeze. They continue to secure my feet, and especially my ankles! Overall, I am SO impressed with this footwear, I'll never be without a pair!! Grandma STILL wears Army boots!!!

Just buy two

I'm in the National Guard, I'm a LEO, FireFighter, and EMT. I spend 12+ hours in boots almost 5 days/week, so finding a good boot is a must. After some searching I'm going BACK to C4T's. I've had Rocky C4T's for years with the military. They've been put through some tough rucks and other exercises. They were comfortable right out of the box and all the way until I left them in a closet for a year where they got stiff in the wrong areas (I'm sure I could work that out) Rocky hit these right on the head if you're a First Responder. Polishable C4T's with the same lightweight yet rugged design. There's no extra zazz written into the making of this boot, which frankly makes it so awesome. I've tried many boots, Solomon X-Ultras were made for standing not walking (ironically), my thorogoods are too heavy for daily use, 5.11s were nice enough. I've run a few half marathons (unintentionally) in these... and spare my own issues my feet felt good. At ~15oz you feel like you're walking barefoot, but the 8" ankles give the boot the grip on your leg to stay there. Now, if you have chicken legs like me (still can't get my calves to grow), you may find extra material in the ankle area. But it really doesn't bother you when the rest fits so form. As these boots don't have any extra padding, I would also recommend going down .5 size unless you wear thick socks. If you have an issue with sweaty feet, fear not. The thin material and ergonomic design allow for air flow to wick your moist sweat away. BuT wHaT iF iT rAiNs? Honestly, I've done a workout in these after being drenched and because of their tight fit they didn't wiggle around. BUT if you're that worried, just get TWO. Seriously, $100 for a sturdy sock? You really can't beat it. And for that price, replacing them frequently (not that I've found you need to) is totally worth it.

The insole cane apart after a couple days of wearing them

The insoles are awful and came apart after a couple days maybe a week. I had to take a set of insoles out of another pair of boots to wear these for work. Also the outside scrape very easily so for people that need the boots to look decent at work i.e. law enforcement they don’t hold up the best. Comfy though and decently light weight

Light and breathable

Great boot for Garrison and trainning. Not designed for the field but already know if you check review and Rocky description of boot. It's my second pair the first pair been good for 5 years doing garrison job and keep my good Lowa boots longer for the field and mission.

Felt great...performed terribly.

Wow. I never review stuff. But this time, I'll make an exception so nobody else ends up in this situation. I loved these boots as soon as I tried them on. The fit was perfect (I have wide feet and the wide size was excellent). I am training for a military competition, so I am running/rucking a lot right now. I ran in them only twice. On the positive side, they felt great - very light. No foot or shin issues. No hotspots or blisters right out of the box. On the negative side though: they ripped on the VERY FIRST 11 km ruck march that I did. They ripped at the seam where the laces join the lightweight fabric. Now I have to start over to find and break in a new pair of boots. I expected way better performance from Rockys - but in fairness, these are their cheapest boots. Even though Rockys have a great name, and a lot of troops wear them, I'm going over to Danners.

Get them.

Good for indoor hard concrete duty...like a correctional facility. They keep your feet fairly dry and definitely cooler than other boots. When you need to run they feel like a lightweight sneaker.
