Not quite as good as I had hoped.

Didn't leave a smooth bore, cuts slow and requires a strong pressure to cut into and remove the pvc material. I was using a 1/2" two handle electric drill and had hoped it would have left a cleaner hole. Didn't seem to wobble too bad, and I am hopeful with generous priming and repriming and copius amount of glue that the repair will hold.

this is the absolute best quality tool on the market.

I am a professional plumber of nearly 25 years and I’ve owned all of the competitions versions of these, from the cheap ones right on up to the rectorseal and the Wheeler Rex models. This tool is hands-down the best quality and smoothest cutting that I’ve ever used. @pstheplumber approved!

dull slow bit

i thought i was doing something wrong, i just noticed the pvc melting, then i came and read the other comments here and yeah, its dull, i'll need to disassemble it and sharpen the bit, kind of a wack value if they cant even bother to sharpen it for you. clever design but missed a critical step in the manufacturing process.

Dull bit

This came dull out of the box and would not cut anything. I had to file the bit to sharpen it. You should not have to sharpen a $40 bit! I feel like I should get a discount for having to sharpen a brand new tool.

It's precise

Creates a clean bore exactly the right size to glue you don't even need to use heavy set or body regular light set pvc glue works great

Don't waste your time or money on this tool!

This tool is so poorly designed and so DULL it melted the ABS hub on the fitting I was desperately trying to save. I've used the more expensive Reed ram bits at work and they work great. Don't bother with this one, it created lots more work for me on a complicated bunch of fittings. Pay more for the better tool. I should have known better????

It works

As a plumber occasionally glue fittings together then later have to change out, it helps to be able to save expensive fittings with this tool.

Dull as a gummy bear - Definitely NOT worth $90!!!!

I was so excited to receive it i didnt even check how dull the blade was. Put it on the drill, started reaming the pipe and NOTHING! Took it off, sharpened it up and after that it did decent job. If it came sharp, id give it 5*, but this way even the 2* feel like i am being nice! Anyway, at the end it did what it was supposed to do, but felt like buying second hand after 100 pipes were reamed with it! Definitely NOT worth $90!!!!

Was a little dull out of the box

Like other have said it was dull out of the box but nothing a file or a stone couldn't fix in a few minute . Afther sharpening it I went straight to use it and while I still had to fight with it , it did get the job done . If you are a plumber who use this tool a lot then you would be better off buying the other version of this tool that Reed make its more expensive but its way better.

Brand new Reed Tool, doesn’t fit specs.

Bought this for ABS 1 1/2 as advertised on Amazon and on the package of product. Does not fit! The red part is too big and does not enter the inside of the pipe making it useless. I really tried, even injuring myself trying to pry it in. Quite disappointed, although it is high quality, no quality control to make sure it can do what is should!!

Disappointed

It’s not very often I’m disappointed with a tool. I received this and found it to be not very sharp, it literally melted the abs away instead of drilling it. Returned the first tool, thinking it was defective, but replacement was just as bad. Now I’m spending my time trying to sharpen it to make it work better. For $100 this has been a big disappointment.
