My go too lure for catching blue gill and sometimes bass

This lure is very easy too use for beginners, all you need to do is reel in slowly and it moves around in the water for you. Blue gill love this lure, casting this thing under trees in stuff s practically a guaranteed catch. This lure is also good for bass but i suggest looking for something larger

Got the wrong color or the color is very inaccurate in the pictures. Looks decent. Hooks look good.

The color is either wrong or shown completely inaccurate in the pictures. I ordered brown which appears to have a 2-3 color gradient on it and I recieved a box that says brown but lure is gold and only a single color. Lure looks quality and Hooks look decent.

The best lure for small to medium ponds and/or fishing near the bank.

You can catch ANYTHING with these lures. And here's what I've caught, and how. 1) Bass - Cast as far as you can. Let it sit there a few moments. Take out most (but not all) of the slack. Whip your rod to the side one time. This causes the crickhopper to do a quick jerk. Wait a few more moments. Whip it again. If you don't have the sucker yet, it's time to up the ante. Keeping your rod almost straight up, slowly reel in until your line that's landed on the water is now out of the water. At this point, your crickhopper will be doing an irresistible waddle on the surface. It takes a little bit of practice, but you want to reel it as fast as you can without making it dive, but not too slow, or you won't get that enticing ripple behind it. The black color of this particular model is great for clear days with clear water. It becomes a black-on-blue sky target for those bass. 2) Perch / Crappie / etc - Cast it far. Reel it so that it dives, but stop every now and then and let it surface. You'll get one of those suckers real quick. 3) Bullfrogs - Hey, I said ANYTHING, didn't I? Find you a bull frog on the bank. Cast this crickhopper onto the bank a little ways away. Reel in the slack and make the crickhopper jitter. With the fish, you can catch and release. Those frogs go after this, and the only way you'd be able to let them go is if you cut their tongues. The treble hooks mess them up good. I did it a few time by accident casting near the bank and getting caught on a root. Felt terrible everytime.

Panfish Magnet

This lure tears up ponds, streams, and rivers as long as they have some fish in them. I've never once thrown this out on the water and not catch something. I've caught all sorts of panfish and even bass that were big enough to steal my lure, although it was my fault for not using the right line/knot. If you want to guarantee yourself catches when the lunkers just aren't bitin, throw this out there and you'll be landing them in no time (unless you're in the MIDDLE of a lake or an ocean, but if you're out there I'd hope you know that), just don't expect them to be record breakers. Every now and then the size of your fish will surprise you though.

Almost Unfair Advantage

From the moment I cast this one (summer hopper) into the water the fish are just going nuts over it. Fish like to eat bugs and things that fall from trees or docks. If there's a bream or small bass with a few feet of where this thing his the water BOOM I've got a fish hooked. The very first time I cast it I caught a Bluegill that was just over 2 1/4 pounds along a dock. Granted all the others I've caught have been nothing like that monster but when I'm ultra light fishing under trees and along docks the thing catches fish like crazy. I got several others in the lineup and only the brownish crayfish has the same appeal . I can't recommend this thing enough at its ability to mimic a bug that just fell in the water and is in "oh crap what do I do now? Let me trying swimming to shore, no maybe turn around, no maybe......" mode. Most times within a couple of feet of where it hit I'm working the drag and reeling in the next one if there's one there. The hooks are very sharp, making it better on the fish and easier to remove. I'm bank fishing in stained water ponds using an Ugly Stik 5' ultra light with Lews Laser Lite spinning reel and 6# mono line. This lure is just plain fun to use and, for me, catches fish no matter the time of day . I can cast it short, long , slingshot or skip and they all get results.

Good lure.

These work great at a local lake in late summer. Only had one , me and my son argued over it. Now I gave him my smaller one and I'm keeping this one.

This thing rocks

I was semi hesitant to buy this because a few reviews said “it was cheap” or “it broke immediately”, I’m happy to say my experience is the exact opposite. This little grasshopper/cricket slays anything in its path. I’ve owned it since January and today was the first time I used it. Within the first half hour, I reeled in 7 bass. No big monsters because it is a smaller bait, but it is definitely one of the most consistent hitting baits I’ve used.

Nice looking bait, used a couple of times, but nothing on the line yet….That’s lake and river!! Hopefully next time…..

Haven't tried it yet. I do have the 3/16 oz version already and have caught scores of bluegill on it. The 1/4 oz is a fair bit larger but should attract the largest bluegill, as well as bass.
