Not cheap, but you get what what you pay for!!!

After seventeen years in the blazing sun of Tucson, Arizona, I FINALLY broke down and brought myself (what I hoped was) a quality pair of sunglasses! I had gone through countless pairs of cheapies and had decided it was time. In the back of my mind, admittedly, I wondered if it was worth it... (I can be tight with a buck). The verdict? WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! My first impression? They felt heavy. Not uncomfortably, mind you, but the mass of something well made. After a day or two that only makes them more comfortable... And yes, over time, a few expected random scratches, but far fewer than their lower priced counterparts. And it's not like I baby them. They get beaten up. And they only seem to look BETTER instead of worse... a true sign of quality! This won't be my last pair. But I don't anticipate having to replacing them for a long while. In a nutshell? Buy 'em. You won't regret it!

Iconic, but needs a few notes

A great style, especially for those of us who don't go for the original Aviator style. But these sunglasses do need a few notes. The size on these have 58mm-diameter lenses with 15 mm between the lenses (if my decoding of the code on the side is correct. This is the largest size in this style, and even at that they are just *slightly* too small at the ears for my head. For context, the Ray Ban Wayfarer with a 50mm lens and 22m nosepiece fits perfectly. Also these, like the original Aviators, are intended to cover pretty much the entire eye socket, so if you're seeing light coming in from the side or top...they are too small for you. In other words, if you don't have a specific size head, these may not work for you and you'll be frustrated. I know it's hard to buy online since you don't get to try them on. OTOH, it's a little unethical (in my opinion) to go to a brick-and-mortar store just to try them on so you can turn around and buy them off of Amazon. DIYD and all that. Assuming the fit is acceptable, these are very well made sunglasses. They just *feel* like quality and the lenses are fantastic. There is some concern on Amazon about some Ray Bans being fakes. The pair I received are the real thing - look for the etched R-B on the left lens (not the lens with the white logo on it), the R-B logo on the nosepieces, the lenses being made of glass (not plastic) and the identifier engraved on the underside of the bridge...these are indicators that you have a genuine pair in your hands. I purchased directly from Amazon, not a "fulfilled by Amazon" purchase, so caveat emptor on that score. All in all, an outstanding pair of glasses at a good price.

Great Sunglasses but ...

They were only packed in their light cardboard box inside the courier bag, the box was squashed but luckily the Ray Bans were not damaged. Also the lenses were smudged which I don't like to see on a brand new purchase. Still giving 4 stars because the sunglasses are great, and they are legit Ray Bans, not knock off's.

Great sunglasses. I have been wearing aviators since the 80's so I know my Ray-Bans. My daughter bought me a pair of these about 5 years ago and I wear them all the time to drive or anytime I am out in the sun, except for fishing- I use Costa 580g green glasses.I decided to buy another pair for my other car. I have yet to find a better, distortion free lens than these. Glass will not ever distort no matter how hot the environment and are much more scratch resistant than plastic. One of the advantages of these is that they can be worn in direct sunlight or in a car in full summertime brightness to lower light conditions without feeling like they are too dark. I prefer Non-polarized lenses while driving because of the lack of distraction from seeing through polarized glass. The Costa's are better for fishing for being the opposite from these. Polarized to see fish through the water, much darker for more intense reflected light off the water and thicker temple to block sunlight from the side. Also, these frames are very durable, being able to be bent to fit the face and over the ears whenever adjustments are needed. Another advantage of these glasses, like the aviators is the thinness of the temple/ear piece. When driving these sunglasses never obscure your vision to the side and aid in avoiding the dreaded lane change into someones front fender. I put my old pair next to the new ones and they seem identical, a tribute to their durability.

I love them, not too big (at least not as big as the Aviator), classy. They're authentic, if you wonder (I checked all the details you'd find on authentic Ray-Bans). Arrived in a flash.

Great Sunglasses!

Honestly I love everything. The look, the lightweight fit, the quality feel! Worn these for 2 years now almost daily! The price is all over the place though. I bought them 2 years ago for $73 and now they're $198! I don't think I could justify spending that much on ANY pair of sunglasses!

Fantastic pair on Ray Ban sunglasses, they were also very well packaged for there journey to me. Arrived before Xmas so well pleased with the delivery timing.

Looks cool, works well

Use them for flying and they work well in most light conditions. However, they have fairly open sides which light can get in, not perfect for very bright days. Fits well underneath a headset and makes you look like you should be in an action movie. Exactly what I was looking for!

Great for driving

They're best for driving as the upper half of the lenses are more heavily tinted for looking out of the car, while the lower part of the lenses are less tinted to allow easier reading of the instruments.
