Easy & Quick Install

Quick, easy, and convenient guard for my tool shed door. My door has an exposed lock where someone could easily cut the deadbolt. This was an easy fix for that.

replace inadequate mounting hardware

thick (?) 13 gauge steel. Stamped so that it will not bend when force applied. Will not bend if a screwdriver or chisel is instered as a pry bar. BUT comes with cheap, flimsey non stainless mounting bolts that should be thrown away upon arrival. Replace with quality SS or hardened steel carriage bolts of 5/16". These will fit the square cutout for the carriage bolt without modification of the item.

Great for extra security

Manage small apt. Building and have used these for many years for outside entry area doors…garage entry, courtyard entry, etc. Recently had someone try to break in and heard them using a hammer, but was unable to gain entry. Yes, there was damage, but it did it’s job. After over 20 years, we had to replace this time. Highly recommend!

It was not as the photo of the item I ordered

It is really intended for a door with one lock. Since I Had a door handle and a dead bolt I had to cut it to fit but in the end it worked well. If you have the tools to make it fit it is good but if you don't it is big enough to cover both locks but it only has one cut out. The one in the picture had a long indentation the would have worked better.

Security

Does what it is suppose to do: it prevents someone from using a pry bar or other object to the latch of the door. I have a door that opens out on my shed/garage and used this to aid in a little extra security. After installing this and security hinge pins it gave me a piece of mind that if someone was to attempt a break in they would have to work harder to gain entry.

Easy to install. Just drill four holes and bolt them on with supplied nuts and bolts.

These latch guards are easy to install. Look good and are added security.

Robust thick metal - long size plate - impressive

Somebody tried break in to my garage, so I installed two latch guards: on the inside and outside door. I wanna see them to try and break in again. Good luck!

I usually use the stainless steel versoion but this is half the price and works. Just not as pretty.

Looks good. But not super solid and firm. If feels that it could still be pried open or bent with a crow-bar if there is a gap present, which there is in our installation on our door.
