Backed by the company.

I ordered this hummingbird feeder to kick off the new hummingbird season. The one that I originally received seeped the sugar water through the feeding ports. I thought it was because the top wasn't sealing correctly. So, I contacted the company via the Amazon website and told them about the issue. The company sent me a new one free of charge. The new one works like a charm. The one I had was likely a fluke. You can't go wrong with a company that backs its products.

Excellent product perfect for my needs.

What can I say it's perfect. Top loading works perfectly. I was afraid it would leak and couldn't understand how it worked but it does. I think the picture says it all they started coming as soon as I put it up.

Hummingbirds aren't huge fans

I accidentally dropped my old feeder so I ordered this one to replace it. I like that I can remove the top to refill. My old one was a pain to fill and made a mess when tipping it back over after filling. The new one is larger capacity so I don’t have to fill it as often. I’m addition, I don’t see as many hummingbirds visiting the new feeder. Not sure if it’s the different flowers, as they’re not the same as my old feeder. I’m using the same mix 1:4 sugar to water and it’s hanging in the same place. I used to refill the old feeder twice a week. I’ve had this one for three weeks and have only refilled once. Partially because it holds more and also because fewer birds seem to be visiting.

The hummingbirds aren’t feeding

For some reason not a single hummingbird is coming to feed. I don’t know why because our backyard is full of hummingbirds because we have morning glory plants and vines and we have some other flowering plants. But it’s been a week and not a single hummingbird have we seen on the hummingbird feeder. I have no idea why.

Transición INMEDIATA al nuevo alimentador Perky-Pet 9109-1SR

The media could not be loaded. Después de analizar muchas opciones y reseñas, compré este alimentador para sustituir el antiguo (20 años de uso), también Perky-Pet. Existen muchas opiniones que destacan la poca o nula aceptación de este bebedero lo cual me hizo dudar mucho sobre su utilidad, pero como cubría mis necesidades de llenado superior y capacidad, me animé a comprarlo. Increíblemente, en el mismo momento que realicé el cambio de alimentador, los colibríes lo aceptaron sin demora. Una vez que reconocieron la nueva fuente de néctar, lo adoptaron sin problema. Con ver el video que adjunto, se puede ver el maravilloso resultado. Despúes de más de 20 años de alimentar colibríes, a mi parecer este Perky-Pet 9109-1SR, tiene las siguientes ventajas y desventajas: - Ventajas: 1. ALIMENTACIÓN SUPERIOR: Esta característica permite rellenar el bebedero sin derramar néctar. Me permite rellenarlo sin tener que esperar a que se termine el contenido. Esto es muy útil, por ejemplo, cuando voy a salir de casa, y así no corro el riesgo de que los colibríes se queden sin alimento; o por las noches, cuando queda poco néctar, puedo rellenarlo y permitir que los colibríes (que son muy madrugadores y acuden al bebedero apenas clarea el día), tengan alimento suficiente sin que yo tenga que levantarme tan temprano. 2. CAPACIDAD (28 oz): Para mí era muy importante un alimentador de gran capacidad, pues a él acude una gran cantidad de colibríes que terminan el contenido por lo menos dos veces al día, lo cual conlleva el riesgo de que se queden sin alimento cuando no puedo rellenarlo. 3. Sin abejas en el interior. El diseño de sus flores evita que penetren las abejas, y tristemente mueran dentro del bebedero. DESVENTAJAS: 1. La única desventaja que yo le veo a Perky-Pet 9109-1SR es que la tapa superior de llenado no sella herméticamente (lo cual se debe al diseño del bebedero para permitir que el néctar fluya en el interior), por lo que no evita que las hormigas penetren y mueran innecesariamente en el néctar (esto sucedió una sola vez); esta situación la solucioné con una trampa casera (ya que no estaba disponible en Amazon la trampa de Perky-Pet); utilicé un vaso medidor de detergente, lo perforé, lo introduje en el cable colgador del bebedero, lo sellé con silicón y lo llené de agua. Asunto resuelto. No más hormigas. Tengo un par de semanas con este alimentador, y hasta ahora soy feliz con el resultado. Si en el futuro surge algo que deba comentar, editaré esta revisión.

Easy to use

Top-Filling makes it way easier to refresh nectar and less concerned about leaking from the bottom, however, the number of visits decreased since I changed with the previous one. So I switched back my previous feeder which leaks from the bottom.
