Great filter! Better flow rate & longer lasting than the "stock" coconut shell carbon filters I had been using
UPDATE: I'd increase this to 10 stars if I could. As a test I used the last one SIX WHOLE MONTHS! Obviously against manufacturer recommendations but in that time we had only a few times where we had chlorine smell/taste "leak" thru and that was only when we used a tremendous amount of water outside (filling kiddie pools & watering). It only lasted a few hours until the filter seemed to "catch up" as if it recuperated from the excessive use. And we use a LOT of water and our water from Detroit has a LOT of chlorine. Can't say we noticed a decrease in flow rate even after 6 months unlike other filters we've tried. So I HIGHLY recommend these filters & now have them on auto order thru Amazon. :) Decided to try these filters in our whole house casing after previously using the coconut shell filters recommended by the local water conditioning store that installed it for the 1st year. Both filters seemed to have nearly the same flow rate at 1st (at least close enough to not have discernible difference) but unlike the "stock" filters which had a very noticeable decrease in flow rate after even just the 1st month left alone by 3rd month where you couldn't take a shower while someone flushed a toilet, these Pentek show very little decrease in flow vs when 1st installed. To me that is a GIANT plus & why I'll keep using these filters. (Besides these are 1/3 of the cost on amazon vs buying from that store) So downsides? Sure.. The water inside the canister turns black but haven't seen any black water coming out of the faucets so it doesn't seem to hurt anything. But the old filters didn't do that. Another thing I noticed is if you run a LOT of water thru this filter over a short duration (such as filling a 250 gallon kiddie pool or watering the lawn a lot) there begins to be a slight chlorine smell from the taps. Our city water is VERY strong chlorine smell & taste without this filter so that doesn't surprise me really. This filter just can't keep up with massive amounts of water going thru it but I wasn't too bothered by it especially considering the filter was already months old & even then it still recovered after a day or two with little to no smell again. Although I did order a replacement from Amazon & plan to replace it soon anyway since we're approaching 6 months on this last filter. Money well spent!

Fits in my water filtration system!
The plumbing company who installed my water filtration system and where I bought these filters was sold. The new company does not sell anything retail. So, I had to order them or Amazon. The product arrived on time and was undamaged. The cartridge fits in my system. I ordered an extra one for "my inventory."

Does not last very long
It seems this carbon filter only works for a short time before it plugs up. I us it once a week to remove Chlorine from make up water for my Koi pond. I add only about 40 gallons It plugs up in less than 6 months of weekly use.

Compatible avec les filtres de roulotte CCI-5, n'a pas coulé de l'été. Dure sans doute moins longtemps que les originaux, mais on le jette tous les automnes et on en remet un neuf tous les printemps, alors ça change rien pour nous.
