Not intended as a reusable filter.

The manufacturer considers this filter (Omnifilter RS19) a disposable cartridge, and provides no cleaning or reuse instructions. It certainly is not designed for easy cleaning, as the stiffener fins impede access to the filter screen on the dirty (outside) surface. The filter screen is not removable for cleaning. I will probably attempt to clean this filter when it gets full, but I am not expecting it to be an efficient process.

Empty tube with a screen around it. As empty as the promises to filter anything out.

We put this on our whole house system, it doesn't work for that. In all fairness our water is very brown but the is just a screen wrapped around a tube. It's completely hollow. I thought it had something inside to filter water when I purchased it. It will filter small stones, or other debris. We have two filters and places this one to prefilter the water before the other filter, and it was basically useless. Maybe for fishtanks to filter gravel out, or I you have a hydroponic system, but we have red clay, and our well water is red/brown, this wasn't any help at all.

I'm not using this for what you think. I'm using it as part of a diy aquarium vacuum to filter silt and junk out of the water. Its the perfect micro rating so as not to plug up immediately.

Working Great

Easily installed, easily washed and lasting for a long time. Do wish the mesh was a little smaller but this is working superbly as a pre-filter to remove sediments from my water system. I do have a second micron filter and this was great as now the micron filter is not clogging up as fast as before. IT is working great.

filtro muy efectivo

un filtro bastante bueno para primera etapa de filtrado, los extremos se pueden remover para facilitar la limpieza del filtro, el material plástico del que está hecho es resistente y se ajusta sin problema a los filtros de 10 pulgadas.
