I love playing with these.
We play outdoors in Maine, all temperatures and I love these pickleballs. I find them a little bit 'softer', less like a croquet ball that other balls, and I feel I have a bit more control. (I'm playing at kind of early Intermediate level and we play for fun). The others in our gang either love them or are fine with them. Nobody so far has objected to them!

No Cracks
These cost more than those we bought at sporting goods stores, but they don't crack like the less expensive versions. However, since they have a bit more heft, you sometimes have to adjust your play a bit.

Overall, better than the Onix Fuse2, but a quality concern
I like the Penn 40. It feels a little harder than the Onix Fuse2, but softer than the Dura 40. Most balls play well and have consistent bounce. Most of the Penn 40’s I have used maintain their bounce somewhat longer than the Fuse2 balls. I do question the quality control on these balls though. I have seen one of 9 balls I have purchased and one ball a friend had become very dead in an abnormally short amount of play. Mine was very dead after only about 6 games. It’s a shame the current options for pickleballs range from the Dura 40 (cracks easily. Very short life span, most are out of round), the Franklin X ( slightly longer life than Dura40, usually round, but still cracks too soon), Onix Fuse2 ( rarely cracks since the “2” came out, gets pretty dead after a couple dozen games) and the Penn 40. My current preferences are the Franklin and the Penn. I’ll play with any ball and frequently play with folks who like the Dura. Last week, we broke five Dura 40’s in two and a half hours of 4.0/ 4.5 play. At about $3/ ea, that could add up to 3 dozen balls per week or over $100. Too expensive for my taste. The Penn 40, with better durability and lower cost, is a better ball for me.

Penn vs Franklin from a beginner
The Penn ball is softer not as responsive as Franklin. It is a durable ball just did not come off the paddle as quickly as Franklin

Great pickleballs, no sharp or unfinished edges and a pretty consistent bounce.
Just new to pickleball and wanted to get all the equipment, so needed some of those to play with. I looked around the found these. Great quality and most importantly for me is that they are NOT Made in China! They are Made in Taiwan instead. Just my form of a little personal protest. Anyways, these are great, and are made for outdoors use. As a former tennis player i have come to trust the Penn tennis ball brand. So why not continue with pickleball as well. And these don’t disappoint at all. I like how they give a nice bounce and don’t look too scuffed out even after playing with the same ball for several days. Where i live there are no indoor courts, so all of the courts are all cement.

Good feel
This brand ball has a good feel and a good consistent bounce. Penn has been making great tennis balls for decades so it stands to reason they’d know how to make a great Pickleball too. I’d recommend…especially over the Franklin X40.

Quality balls
Professional packaging matched the quality pickle balls. We are relatively new to PB in the UK, but we’ve used different balls. These are the best so far !

Great balls but on the softer side.
I actually like these softer balls, many use them, they don't break in the cold, play all winter. Definitely a decent quality for a softer type of ball.
