Beat Contigo, Yeti, and Stanley in my testing
I've purchased Contigo, Yeti, and Stanley bottles, among others and this OXO is the best thus far, if you're looking to transport hot beverages. Leakproof was my main concern and I test by pouring boiling water from my tea kettle into the bottle, screwing on the lid, then inverting the bottle twice. Contigo, Yeti, and Stanley bottles shockingly all started spraying out hot water through the treads there the lid screws to the bottle and in some cases though the sealed opening where you are to drink from. This OXO bottle was the only one that did not leak. In fact, when I rotated the lid to it's open position for drinking the pressure it was containing from the hot water and steam escapes like with a woosh. The others could not contain the pressure, and instead allowed the hot water to be forced out where their seals are inadequate. This I certainly didn't expect from the Yeti, but had to return it as well. I make a hot tea, of fill with coffee and put bottles in my shoulder bag, on the car seat next to me while I get organized, or under the airline seat in front of me. I don't want a bottle that leaks when hot liquid sloshes around a little inside. The lid is a little bit more difficult to clean than the Contigo, but comes apart in about the same fashion as the Yeti. The open and close position of the lid's valve achieved by rotating the lid and if has a nice red indicator inside to indicate closed position. Opening and closing for drinking requires two hands, unlike the Contigo I tried with the read push-button release, but I don't find this a problem for the way I use it, and am willing to use two hands to get a bottle that is actually leak-proof. Only improvement I can see after using it for a couple weeks is I’d prefer if the direction you rotate the upper half of the lid to allow for drinking was in the counter-clockwise direction. This is more natural when unscrewing any bottle or jar, so I find myself still having to think before opening to sip.

I’ll only buy Oxo!
This is my third mug from Oxo. My first lasted me 10 years, and my second mug around 5-6 years. They both began to smell and nothing would help. I was a little disappointed that mug was discontinued and replaced by this one until I opened this package. I LOVE how the lid comes apart - it’s actually genius. I can scrub all the little pieces thoroughly for a deep clean. This mug still keep my tea warm all day long like the prior version as well. Oxo, you did it again!

Harder to use than I care for
I usually like OXO products, and this one seems pretty good overall. But it just doesn't fill the bill for me. First, I'm not particularly mechanical, and it took me awhile to get the hang of taking the lid apart for cleaning and then putting it back together. I'm sure I need to save the instructions to review when I don't use this for awhile, because it isn't intuitive and I'm sure I'll forget the process. Second, I really wanted something I can open and close with one hand when I have something else in the other hand, and I can't do that with this bottle. One other thing I noticed is, I wonder how long the rubber ring in the lid will last. It is sturdy and attractive, doesn't slip or tip over easily, and hasn't leaked for me so far. And even though I don't think it was properly packaged for shipping--it was loose in a padded envelope with no protective box--it wasn't damaged during shipping, the way another brand that I tried was.

Great style update!
I had the old pop top version of this for many years. The new version has a smaller profile, has great color options, and the top comes apart for great dishwasher cleaning. I did have occasional leaks with the old style but this one seems solid. Very pleased with my purchase!

Not as good as the model it replaced.
The previous OXO mug (of which I have had several over the years) had a top button that clicked the drinking port open & closed. One finger needed. This one takes 2 hands to twist the lid from closed to open position. This also is much more of a pain to clean, requiring you to take the top apart into 3 pieces - dissecting them in the proper order & reassembling them in reverse order - not easy to get just right. It also drips from the lid unless you screw it down extra tight, making it a bit of a pain to unscrew for cleaning. The older model was less complicated, but better engineered. Its cylindrical shape is a bit more awkward than the older one, which got wider from base to rim, making it not as tall & easier to fit under the coffeemaker, as well as more secure to hold. The best thing I can say is that it keeps both hot & cold liquids at the proper temperature for longer than most. If you can't find somebody selling the discontinued model, buy 2 for security. If not, this is probably as good as you can get. Sigh...

Still doesn't keep coffee warm for long
I love this color and the shape. The top is difficult to get the hang of. You have to twist opposite of the way you would think to open to drink from it. It's not dishwasher safe for the top piece and many parts. It is leak proof but does not keep my coffee warm long. For the price, i would not recommend.

Coffee’s still hot!
The OXO 20 oz coffee mug so far works really well. I usually finish my daily ration of java within 2-3 hours. Within 2.5 hours my coffee was still piping hot.

Great cup! Keeps coffee very warm!
GREAT cup! OXO is the best. The only drawback to this one is that it's pretty tall. It holds a LOT of coffee (which I like!) but it doesn't fit under most coffee makers... Have to make the coffee in another cup or measuring cup and pour it in. That's a minor inconvenience when you consider all the other wonderful aspects of this cup!

Better thermals than Yeti, still dishwasher safe
Was looking for a mug that held temp (hot) better than the Yeti Rambler, but still was dishwasher safe. This one seems to be the right amount of give and take. Some of the pieces are pretty small, but we throw them in the small items basket and they seem to clean up well. I do wonder if you can buy replacement pieces like you can with the Yeti though... If not that could potentially shorten the lifespan. Holds things warmer noticeably better than the Yeti, and I've actually burnt myself a few times because of it. This is good for me because I'm caffeine sensitive but only like espresso drinks, not regular coffee. So I have to have a drink over 6 hours lol and don't like lukewarm drinks. With the Yeti the primary point for heat to escape is the lid, whereas on this it's right around the silver band where the top screws on. Compared to the 20oz Yeti I also find it's easier to hold (I have small hands). It gets in the way on a desk less since it has a narrower footprint.
