It's perfect

I ordered this because when I switched from my Silverado to my suburban to use for towing, the 4 inch drop was too much when I would pull out of my driveway, which sits on an incline. The hitch would scrape the ground. Replaced it with this 2 inch drop and it's perfect. Passing grade from me all the way around.

Drops a couple inches below the receiver to lower the trailer tongue

Is it equally safe to mount ball on the other side to raise tongue height? I think it is, weld looks good enough, but maybe there are some engineering requirements for it to be positioned with ball hole below receiver. I doubt it, but wonder if anyone knows different.

Great, heavy duty hitch

For the money, I think this is a solid hitch. It’s got a good bit of weight to it. Fits snugly in the receiver. The pin is good, I prefer a locking pin though so this’ll just be a spare. My biggest complaint is that it came dissembled. It’s not a big deal but I just don’t like scratching up the new chrome ball trying to tighten it with wrenches. The box had some kind of oil all over it. Not super nice but I just end up tossing the box anyway so also not a big deal.

Nice Product, but There's a Hitch ;-)

This review is for the Nilight Trailer Hitch Ball Mount with 2-5/16 Inch Trailer Ball & 5/8" Hitch Pin Clip. The product includes the ball mount, 2-5/16" hitch ball, pin, and clip. It arrived securely packaged in a thick styrofoam material inside a well-taped box. The individual components of the product were separated by styrofoam inside the packaging, so there were no scratches or damage of any kind. The hitch itself is as heavy as I would expect given what it's designed to do. I had no difficulty pulling my 16' enclosed trailer with it. There is one issue that you should be aware of: this particular hitch does *not* arrive with the ball pre-installed on the ball mount. (I also couldn't find any indication in the product description that the ball wouldn't arrive already mounted and torqued.) This means that you'll need to ensure that the ball is torqued to the proper specification before using it. Unfortunately, there were no instructions included with the product that would indicate the manufacturer's specified torque. However, the shank measured 1", so the torque specification is most likely 250 foot-pounds. If you don't have the proper tools to torque the ball to this specification, make sure you take it to someone who does. Safety first!

Well made, should last a long time.

Really nice trailer hitch. My old one has become rusty and it was time for an upgrade. This feels and tows solid with my boat and trailer. Happy with the results!
