My favorite style of file handle.

first, the size. I measured the opening at the top of the wood handle where you would insert the file tang. It measures approximately 15/32" (measured with digital calipers) So if your tang is no where near that size at the widest part, then don't bother with these. Second, the ferrule. Just like the other reviewer, the metal ferrule fell off as soon as I removed the handle from the packaging.The diameter of the ferrule is slightly larger than the diameter of the handle area designated for the ferrule. (at least on this handle) I fixed it by using a large amount thick glue that filled in the small gap. This is the reason for the three-star rating.

Fits Huge Files

This fit my large lathe file perfectly. The people who are complaining about the size bought the wrong handle. This is not for little files from Home Depot. My file is probably 14" long, and a regular handle won't fit.

Monster file

Good handle for a VERY large file. I use small & medium files and resorted to making my own handles with basswood and epoxy.

Good Handle for home made tools.

I was in need of a handle to fit a home made tool I was building. This fit the bill. I had to drill out and tap for the end of my tool, but this handle was great. It is very high quality, and makes the project look amazing. Good product, and well worth the money.
