Low tech, works well

Pretty simple devise that works well. We have used this stop as well as the CRL Satin Chrome Finish Wall Mounted Heavy Duty Door Stop with Hook and Holder. Both have their pros and cons. Both are good devices but which is best for you would depend upon your situation. This one is simpler to install, half price of the other. However, if in a high wind area, I would be concerned that over time the single screw holding the door mounted part might get loose and eventually fall out. The other negative is the the door portion sticks out about 3" and could be hazard. The CRL Satin Chrome Finish Wall Mounted Heavy Duty Door Stop with Hook and Holder is sturdier by virtue of having two screws to hold it into both the door and wall. Also, doesn't stick out from the door but rather from the wall.

If you live in a windy place these are great! They have a small flapper piece that keeps them from slamming in when it engages closed, (door open,) and they hold doors in heavy winds!
