Hate to drill holes in hardwood flooring, but ...

... I really needed to replace two on-the-door stops. The directions for installing this are perfect (drill size, particularly), and install was a breeze.

Appears well made, but I think the bottom plate is much too thin, and I suspect most doors, especially heavy ones, like a front door, won't do well with it.

Quality, appearance and function

You can't beat solid brass, and the single-screw attachment allows the cushion to be aligned flush to the door before final tightening. The stops are low-profile, so I needed to make a lift with 3/4" plywood for doors with high sills. I just used a 2-1/2" hole saw to cut the lifts out of a scrap piece, and stained them to match the floor.

High quality

Very nice item and very high quality. Comes with a screw and a pin, so you needed to drill two holes, but should stay in place forever.
