Slide bar mismatch

I have been in the midst of a bathroom and kitchen remodel for the past 6 weeks and the plumber just now installed this shower faucet system. I ordered it more than 4 weeks ago so it is beyond the return date deadline. It seems to work well so far in testing but I have yet to use the shower and looks very nice except for one problem. I inspected all the parts in the box but did not notice the slide bar for the handset does not match the chrome finish I ordered. I suspect the bar is the brushed nickel finish not shiny chrome. It looks slightly yellowed compared to the other parts. It is a subtle difference but in my all white bathroom and chrome fixtures it still stands out as a mismatch. I wish I had noticed this before installation and before the return period expired but needed the fixture on site when the plumber was ready. I've order many items through Amazon and its partners. It's one of the risks of ordering online when there is no local store to quickly replace the part.

Internal Parts Won't Last 6 Months

Original Post: This was professionally installed. The diverter stopped working after 6 months; the valve is not engaging internally. I'm giving two stars in hopes I can purchase higher quality parts to repair the diverter. Follow-up Post: I took apart the diverter and found a short pin had slid out from a hole in one of the plastic parts. I reinserted the pin. Everything works now, but I’m not confident it will last. Next time it breaks, I’ll look for better quality parts.

This is working great in our bathroom

This is working great in our bathroom. I am 5 feet tall and my husband is 6' 2" so you can see why we needed this. It looks great too. HOWEVER, beware of installation instructions. They are almost worse than nonexistent. I say "almost" because we needed to have them for certain connections that were not exactly intuitive. The end product is worth the effort to figure out what the directions really mean!

Looks beautiful. Contractor installed it and didn't seem to have any issues. Took me a little while to figure out how to work it. There's a valve I guess that keeps either the shower head or the spray to work but not together. I told our contractor that I didn't care if both the spray and the shower head worked together and that it was okay that they worked independently. Only suggestion for improvement would be if the spay heads were all totally chrome instead of some black plastic but regardless is a very attractive unit

Good faucet

I have always had good luck with Moen. And I have plenty of experience with sweating copper connections/ valves. But this unit of coarse has two valve bodies/ eight connections and I had to re-solder 7 of the 8 joints into the valve bodies.... Might have just been one of those days! But if I had to do it all over I would pre-tint the pipes. Also keep in mind that though this unit is just for a shower head and a hand shower the control is for three outlets and you only need two. But over all a good solid Moen shower unit. And I would buy it again.

Best priced shower system I've ever found. Quality product

Very nice shower system. Your not going to beat this price for everything that's included, Period. Works flawlessly. Make sure to take cartridges out when soldering valve body and flush before putting them back in. The installation of the two separate valves is more labor intensive then the Moen 3330 valve I have in my second shower but for the price I can't complain at all. I would recommend switching out the main shower head as I didn't like the one it this kit at all, but everything else is top notch. Even the shower bar ends are metal which is something I found difficult to find in competing products at doubt the price.

Great Shower System

I love how easy it is to set the temperature or choose which spray head to use. I had a plumber install the Moen 8342 Shower System... and was glad I did. It turned out to be more than I would have been able to do on my own. The only thing I wish is that the spray hose was longer.

Made me look good, at a price better than the local H.D.

I'm installing this into a new shower for my mother-in-law, who recently suffered a stroke. This is a quality product! The brass in the mixer and diverter are substantial. They accepted the solder extremely well without damaging the product. BTW I didn't really pay much attention to the "3 Function" part until I realized that the diverter is a 3-way! You can either cap it off, or add an additional shower head. I offered up a rain can option. I've sweated a few joints in my life. But, I'm not an expert plumber. I'm a science teacher. This product made me look good to the in-laws!
