Fun For Hours

We saw this puzzle at our local science museum and instantly, my almost two year old was hooked. So of course I came home and two days later it was on our porch! We love using this to practice shapes, colors and creativity! We have also gifted this to a few friends!

Beautiful shape puzzle

This is one of my favorite Melissa and Doug product. My 2.5 year old knows his shapes, but this was still a bit challenging while providing loads of fun. It’s been mmonths and this is still one of his favorites.

Great Puzzle

This puzzle is very sturdy and quite heavy. It’s a great learning puzzle for shapes for children at least 2 years old.

Excellent for learning shapes!

I have been teaching older toddlers/pre-schoolers to identify & discriminate shapes for more than 40 years. This set works much better than most for learning basic puzzle skills as the child must recognize the shape to place it correctly, not just match the pictures as most other puzzles for beginners do. And there are several puzzle boards included that tap into various levels of difficulty, going from mostly circles to a combination of triangles, rectangles, ovals and squares. One can also use the shapes to make your own design or use the shapes to play other learning games. (All pieces are too large to choke on even for kids that may still explore with their mouths on occasion.) Great price for a well-made and versatile product.

Good toy for younger toddlers

My 2.5yo toddler enjoyed playing with it for a short time. If i have given it to him a little earlier, it may hold his interest a little more. This is quite an easy task for him given that he's had a few exposure on other shape puzzles like that of lovevery. With that being said, i would recommend it to toddlers as one of the starter puzzles. The shapes can be reused in other activities.

My son loves these puzzles

To say that my two year old son loves these puzzles is something of an understatement. I bought these as an early Christmas present for my son - just a little something he could unwrap early and play with indoors while it's too cold and wet to do much playing outside. I was realistic: it's a puzzle. Give it 10 minutes tops. He'll play with it now and then. So three days later and he'll still sit down several times a day for up to a half hour and play puzzles. They generate a surprising amount of commentary as he excitedly tells me the names of the shapes or that name of what he's building "Look daddy, a triangle!". It comes with five boards with a puzzle on each side. The shapes are oval, square, triangle and rectangle. They are cut so that two of the triangles make a square and two squares will make a rectangle. That discovery alone has given my son a lot of entertainment. The puzzles are fun things kids love: trains, boats, butterflies, dogs, etc... The quality is first rate: nice thick blocks that are easy for small hands to manipulate. Overall I couldn't be happier with this toy or how much fun my son has had with it. Easily worth every penny. (I should point out when I bought mine you could find two entries for this product, one sold by Amazon and another entry that was all third part sellers at a higher price than what Amazon was selling it for, so check before you buy.)

Perfect for my toddler!

Good quality. Boards are sturdy enough and don’t feel cheap. Boards are double sided which is a plus! Bought this for our 2 year old toddler and she loves it.

Great Toy. Try it out early.

We got this for my son when he was 21 months old. He immediately loved it and it kept his attention longer than any thing else. He was able to figure out the puzzles pretty easily and his only difficulty was with the triangles (they are not equilateral so they have to go in a certain way). The triangle actually presented a great opportunity to teach him to keep trying and not give up, even when it doesn't go right in. By the time he was 2 he had completely mastered it and has moved on to harder pattern block sets. He is now 2 years 3 months and is working on pattern blocks recommended for ages 4+ (He mastered the next level pretty quickly as well, we just keep getting a harder set, the most recent set is progressively harder so it should grow with him more). This was a great introduction (and he still loves to get this one out to this day) and I would recommend parents to get this at ~18 months and just try it. This helped my son focus on an activity, learn his shapes (saying the words), learn to combine shapes to make a larger one (2 triangle=1 square, 2 squares=1 rectangle in this set), learn to get past learning frustrations and keep trying, and generally introduce him to pattern blocks. Overall great educational toy.

Good quality

Very good quality toy. Good to practice shapes and colours. Each wooden board has 2 designs, so 10 in total. Unfortunately this is not my toddler go to toy. He likes other jigsaws better. Probably just his preference?

Worth the Investment

Its an expensive product.. But worth it..Colorful and sturdy .. Not too small to be put in mouth by kids so that is a big plus point... however due to the cover missing it is difficult to store the pieces..

Big , double sided , thick wood good quality. Perfect for learning shapes , some easy to some semi difficult . Ask questions like what shapes does it require , colours , what picture is it. Hoping my son will connect shapes with objects like a dogs head is circle , there’s a lot more to it then just putting the shapes.

Best shape sorter game for 2year old

Perfect game for 2 year old and above . They learn shapes n it’s colours through this game . Very very good quality product
