Good for thicker hands... great for weeding!

Let me start by describing my hand type, so hopefully this will help purchasers get an idea of the size. I have long slender hands, I'm a pianist if that helps, that are not thick or chubby in any way shape or form. These gloves are an OK fit. About how I would expect a pair of gardening gloves to fit. The finger length isn't quite long enough, even though I got a M, and I don't have large hands by any stretch. However, my entire hand is covered. It's just not a great fit. I kept them anyway, figuring... Auh, they are just gardening gloves, who needs a perfect fit, and I'm glad I did. We have some very prickly and thorny weeds in our grass. These saved my hands. Not one prick! :D They have a great grip, so I've been able to get some very stubborn weeds out, with much less effort. All in all, not perfect, but I didn't expect perfection. Just something that would allow me to get the weeds that would normally stab my fingers/hands, without any pain... and they did that. 4 stars is mainly for the strange sizing. Hope this helps.

Good while it lasted

When I first got this pair of gloves, I really liked them. The plastic coating is nice and thick so as to protect me from rose thorns. However, I wish the coating went up higher, and that the gloves extended higher up the arm. My fault for ordering short gloves. But the reason for only 3 stars is because after a few months of usage, the plastic coating is cracked and broken. This also led to the fabric underneath the coating to tear. It's rather disappointing. I will be looking for other gloves that are more durable. So far, the ones I got at another membership warehouse store has lasted me longer. No cracking of the plastic or tearing of the fabric, but then, those gloves' plastic coating is also thinner. They will suffice for now, but the search for perfect gardening gloves continue.

New bad gloves. Must have changed material.

Review in 2011 I usually have to tug and sometimes lose pulling out tough weeds. I bought these gloves to primarily pull out nettles. Have nasty patches growing out of the blue. Was able to hold onto and pull up mature weeds with fairly big stems. The real test was to be able to pull up nettles. These gloves worked! Didn't get any stings even from the larger nettles. They're soft on the skin. Wish they had longer wrist coverage. Might try rose thorn gloves but will probably buy these again. Re-review 2014. Maybe a year or so after my first pair I bought a second pair from the same company. A real disappointment! They were not the same gloves. The new gloves became stiff and gluey with holes that appeared in some of the brittle fingers. Used them a very short time and forgot them because they were of no help to me. Looking for a better set. You had a good thing going guys, what makes you think degrading the quality will make me re-buy your gloves? Like many who love gardening I'm a gardner for life. Gloves, all kinds of gardening gloves I use constantly. Gloves are very important to me.

Good, but hard to grip

I really had high hopes for these gloves when purchasing them. I have rose bushes, so needed something that could handle the thornes. I have only tried these once so far, but found it difficult getting a good grip on weeds, making it hard to pull the whole thing out. Maybe this is just something I have to adjust to with this actual glove? Overall, I don't regret my purchase and do like the thickness of these gloves.

Nice Gloves

I bought these to pull weeds outside my front yard because where I live they seem to grow daily. i also needed something to protect me from those tiny spikey goat heads. These do a decent job of pretecting my hands for what I need. They fit me perfectly which is hard to find since I have such small hands. Overall I would say they were a very good purchase and I don't regret buying them.

Great for working with cactus

This is my second pair. My first one has a tiny crack at the tip of one finger after two years of use. Still, much better for handling cactus than the ones noted use is for thorns.
