Bought this for my daughter since she is very into fairy doors. It was fun to see her get creative with how she decorated the door and inside! Even though you can put this outside, we chose to put it in her bedroom against the wall and put some fairies around it. So cute!

Cute, fun gift
My 7 year old daughter had a great time making this fairy door. We added a few things of our own like a second rock, some additional paints, and the box you see in the picture but it was a good kit. I do wish it had come with a second door but the one it has is sturdy and well made, as are the accessories. I'd recommend this for kids ages 6+.

Adorable for an Easter basket!
This paint your own fairy door was a super cute addition to my daughters Easter basket. We liked that it came with several 3D elements, like mushrooms and rocks that help you set a whole scene. The door opens and you can paint the inside as well. There is an example you can follow, but you can get creative and do whatever you want! My daughter said she wants to paint the inside of the door to look like a starry night sky, as though it is a doorway into another world! So cool! The reason I took off a star is because where the door attaches is sharp! There is two metal hooks that act as hinges for the door to ride on. The hooks are sharp metal pieces that you need to be mindful of, especially with younger children. To protect this from the elements, we plan to spray it with a sealer so the wood and paint won't rot or fade. The back of the door is flat and there is no hardware to attach it to a tree. Not a big deal, just wanted you to be aware.

Easy to paint, nice wood
My children are quite enthusiastic about fairies and constantly build little natural houses for them out of things they find in the yard so the chance to paint a fairy door to add to the collection was met with much joy. The door and paints are made for indoor or outdoor use. You remove the door from the doorframe for ease of painting. Everything you need in is already in the kit except some water and paper towels. You may also want smocks. We found the quality of the wooden door and wood cut-outs to be quite good. One area of concern was that two of our paint colors were unfortunately thickened beyond usability despite the container not showing and damage. Nevertheless, my kids completed the project and were quite pleased with the results. With a little practice they used the detail brush to make some fine polka dots and designs. They can't decide whether to hang it inside or out.

Not the best design, but it is a fun project.
This fairy door is a cute project for kids who are into the idea of fairies and creating a beautiful space to welcome them into the human world, whether inside or outside. The pieces come apart to be painted, which is a nice feature, but because the paint is designed to be weatherproof, it is thicker than other paints and becomes tacky after it is applied, which makes the pieces stick some when they’re being put together. The yellow in our kit was congealed to the point of being unusable, which was disappointing, but the other colors worked nicely. It comes with strong glue and cute accessories to up level the door once it is complete, and the finished project is a cute addition to home or garden. Because of the drying time of the paint, this project will take some time and patience to put together, and the intricacy will depend on the person creating it. Overall, fairy fans will enjoy designing a door to decorate their abode.

What an amazing craft for Fairy lovers!
My 6 year old daughter and I had the absolute best time completing this craft. Everything you need to create your fairy door is contained in the craft. There is more than enough weather resistant paint to complete the craft. The one suggestion I would make is to have all the primary colors in the paint palette. Sadly, there is no red so you can’t make pink or purple (my 6 year old did not mind that there was no way to make her favorite colors). I chose not to use my own pink paint because I wanted to be able to give my honest opinion about the paint contained in the kit. The quality of the paint is terrific. I really appreciated that the kit provided a weather resistant paint allowing for the project to be displayed indoors or outdoors! Both my daughter and I worked on the project using the Fine and Medium paint brushes that were provided. I was pleasantly surprised by quality of the brushes. The fine tip brush easily allowed for the ability to make tiny polka dots to create patterns and flowers as shown in the instructional pamphlet. The fairy rock transfer was extremely easy for my daughter to complete on her own with very little assistance. The entire craft she could have easily completed on her own but we chose to do it together as a fun Sunday project. I highly recommend this for any fairy lover!! It is perfect for 6+ but I would say you can definitely do this project with a younger child with the help of an adult. This would be a fabulous gift and I definitely can see myself purchasing it as a birthday present for one of my daughter’s friends.

Fun kit for kids
My 5 year old and my 8 year old really enjoyed decorating this fairy door together. The instructions are easy to follow, and the door is good quality (solid wood that opens and closes and disassembles to paint). The glue that comes with it adheres well, but is very stringy and a bit difficult to apply. The paints also adhere well and are weatherproof. The colors are bright, but they are not very opaque, and opening the paint container can make a mess if you aren't careful. The mushrooms are styrofoam, unfortunately, wish they were wood too, but everything else is top quality. It comes with 2 nice paint brushes along with everything else you need to make this. I discovered that Faber Castel makes the creativity for kids kits, the components are mostly up to their usual high standards. They come with clear instructions, but it's super simple so they aren't really necessary.
