It's really nice, and I'm hoping it lasts for years and years.

A lot bigger than I expected. During set up, I slipped with tools a few times, and noticed the finish didn't scratch, or crack. I was really glad to see it's much more resilient than the other reviews stated. I noticed one nick out of the box, where the wood was broken, and small piece chipped away, but it was on an inner side, so I chose to ignore it, since it would be unnoticed after assembly. My biggest issue, was the first step in assembly, the guide holes for screws were missing, and I didn't want to recklessly drill or force in screws, so I'm waiting to figure out how to finish that part. Some holes don't line up completely, making assembly a tad less easy, though not quite difficult. One screw wouldn't go in straight, but everything else eventually worked out. A rubber mallet would be helpful for the wood pieces that fit into holes, though I got by with just lightly tapped the components together. This product is designed to be assembled by at least 2 people, unless you have some kind of well equipped workshop to make up for the lack of extra hands. The "White Glove Delivery Service" that is said to be included when purchased from Amazon.com, I sadly got no service, even though customer support said that it would be professionally delivered, inspected, and assembled for me. In any case, to sum up, I felt this coffee table deserved a chance to get a fair review. There's only 6, and everyone complains, but the table seemed so nice, I assumed the people who don't have issues, just never say anything, so only the complaints get noticed. So let me be the first to say I'm glad I got this coffee table. I'll update my review later on when I've had more experience with it. Sadly, split some wood trying to finish. Seemed like the hole was there but somehow was too tight, and the wood cracked before it was all the way in. I really like the table, but it seems here and there things were overlooked, or not done quite right, like screws go in crooked, or the holes too tight, or too close together for the part.

Scratches extraordinarily easily

Love the functionality of large hidden storage compartment and that this is a heavy piece with a clean design Really dislike choice of pine as the wood, solid pine is so much weaker than cheap particle board found in cheaper furniture. On day 1 with light/normal use our cats added many deep scars that reveal the light natural pine color that is beneath the very thin dark veneer. And while we have other furniture in this color, this is the first piece that shows our cats paw prints all over it, maybe due to this sort of matte finish on the piece. I don’t recommend this furniture unless you treat your home like a museum and will not use/touch this furniture at all

Looks nice but pain to construct

All in all this is a really nice coffee table, BUT it is a huge pain to put together. The directions are easy to follow but the pieces and manufacturer holes don't all match up. We had to take it apart and put it back together a couple times to get the top to line up and fully close. All in all it probably took us about four hours to put together. The wood paint was a little damaged when it shipped.

Great storage

Easy to put together and practical with storage and a try for my ottoman as well. The finish looks nice but is applied very thin and easily comes off with any small item or even a thumb nail.

Easily damaged, impossible to assemble, not worth the price

Not worth the price. Bought this coffee table and matching end table for $500 combined (without the professional installation option - unreasonably expensive). The design is cute, but they were MISERABLE to assemble. I am a perfectionist and normally assemble furniture myself without trouble, but these were impossible to get right. The pre-drilled holes didn't line up, so I spent forever making sure the top hinge pieces closed flush with one another. Also, one of the top pieces doesnt close fully, which is driving us insane. As a result, it looks really tacky for a $500 set. Also VERY easy to scratch, which is a huge bummer. Seriously not worth the money/ hassle/ stress.
