I decided not to use this and go with another vine I purchased. the decision was mostly based in liking the texture of the other vine better for my needs. I'm not returning it because I could use it in the future and be happy with it in another tank. it's good for the price. the surface is smooth and it's obviously plastic coating but depending on your critter that may be ideal. for hermit crabs to climb I think I'd need to add something with more texture along with it. there aren't a lot of little side vines to help attach greenery or stuff like that. it's flexible but doesnt hold it's shape as much as some other critter vines I have. the little corkscrew pieces you see in the image do not have wire in them, they are simply decorative.

We used this for my daughter's cameleon terrarium. Its strong it been well and is realistic.

The poor thing was not doing well so we took it ...
Recently we discovered a veiled chameleon in our lanai, our enclosed (except for a doggie door) back porch. The poor thing was not doing well so we took it in, did some quick, extensive research and scrambled to get the things the little guy needed. Later one we found out that an individual was breeding things and was facing impending trouble so they released all of their stock into the wild. This one not just to make the habitat look nice for us, but for our veiled chameleon as well. They need an environment that they can climb around in as well as hide when they are feeling a bit shy. This was as described and is a great touch to the habitat.

Realistic!
I have this twisted around another faux vine and entertained with a pathos plant some you can't even tell it is fake. It looks great and brings a pop up my tank that I can't get anywhere else. Love this. Easy to shape and move around.

Looks really nice, holds its shape
Looks really nice, holds its shape, and can be broken down into smaller parts with wire cutters. Coat with black spray foam and coco fiber for that dirt-covered root look, or leave bare for a jungle aesthetic. Looping it around objects mimics a real vine's growth and anchors terrarium furniture in place. Provides a foundation for real vines to grow.

Looks great and very functional
Got this for a craft project, just what I needed. Mine was all one piece, which keeps branching off in twos and threes several times. You could use it all in one piece, or cut it up. Most parts except for the thinnest ones have wire in them for shaping and wrapping.
