true to size, only thing is the sparkly silver portions of the costume will pull threads easily-

Bought it last minute for Halloween and it was exactly what my seven-year-old son wanted. as mentioned before the fabric that pools easily would be it’s downside, but for price point and a last minute purchase it was just fine

OK, but itchy material

The fit was good on this costume but the headpiece and arms are a very rough material that was itchy for the kids. Will be returning but disappointedly since I like everything else about this costume.

Authentic-looking, sizing is good, but beware the snags!

Other reviewers weren't kidding when they said just a tiny snag on the wrong thing (including the velcro that's on the wrist cuffs), causes the "chain mail" material to unravel. It really does snag easily. My son tried it on the night we got it, and in the 5 minutes he wore it, two places on the chain mail material got snagged on something and unraveled. He'll have to be very careful on Halloween not to brush up against anything rough. The chain mail is made from a woven silver metallic-looking material...the threads remind me of tinsel like you'd use on a Christmas tree. It looks great, but isn't going to be very durable long-term. Size-wise, the medium (8-10) fits him very well with lots of room to spare, without being too big. He's a tall but very thin just-turned-8-yr-old: 53" and around 60 lbs. The shoulders of the tunic are roomy and it's long enough without being too long; the sleeves are also long enough (they're 3/4-length sleeves with wrist cuffs that fit over them). The wrist cuffs are a tiny bit too big for him, but not so much that they don't stay on. I just have to watch the velcro patch on them that it doesn't snag on the "chain mail" sleeves. Included in this set is: the tunic with 3/4 sleeves, belt, headpiece, wrist cuffs, and leg cuffs that I think are supposed to look like tall black boots when worn over black shoes. You have to supply the shoes and the pants yourself. We are using black thermal long-johns for the pants, and black shoes.

Exactly what I needed, just a bit big

Needed this for a family outing and the reviews were correct about the head piece, it can come apart easily if you mess with it. Luckily I found the ends and singed them so that my nephew couldn’t tug on them. He’s 7 so we got him a size up but he was comfortable and enjoyed being a knight!

Incredibly well made, realistic and comfortable

I was hesitant buying costume chainmail because I’ve seen so many cheap looking replications, but I was thoroughly surprised when I received this. It is very long, realistic feeling, stitched well, and lined with a soft, nearly invisible fabric. Came with the hood and well packaged. Highly recommend.

This was a nice costume for the price. The only complaint is that the fabric on the tunic snagged easily when my son rubbed his plastic sword against it.

A (s)word to the wise

When I buy costumes for my kiddo I don't mind spending a little extra money for higher quality because I need the outfit to last and be reused time and again in my classroom. This knight costume is great because even though it is thin material, it is sturdy and sewn well. The tunic is long enough to be useful in the grade 3, 4, and 5 classroom and best of all it can be thrown into the washing machine (I hang it to dry). The wrist bands are flimsy and I doubt they'll make it through the school year, but the hood (which is a kid favourite) has stood up to multiple pull-ons and pull-offs. What is disappointing is the display of the costume with sword and shield. These are NOT included (the listing does note this) but it is disappointing all the same to spend higher-than-usual amount for a knight costume and not to even get a sword.

Not worth the price

It’s a lovely costume however upon taking it out of the package the arms and head gear snagged. Very Poor quality for the price paid

Sir Amazing

We ordered this for our eight year old. With very low expectations, we had nowhere to go but up. The head covering is really nice. Thin, fragile, but it looks fantastic. I was worried it might be hard to get the narrow part over his head, but it worked fine. The tunic is very nice. The wrist guards are a bit big and slide around, but some double sided tape will fix that. Likewise, the boot toppers are a bit big, but can easily be tightened with some tape or safety pins. Overall, this was excellent value for money. I was impressed with the quality. I don't think it would last long as a daily play costume, but I believe my younger son will be able to be a knight, or perhaps use this in a school play or dress-up day a couple times before it is spent. Wish it came with gloves made from the same fabric as the hat.

Nice but

Nice costume but it does not include the sword or shield as the picture shows so was disappointed with that!

We ordered size 6-8 for our 6 year old. It is long like a dress but fits well everywhere else. The leggings are a bit big too. Overall a really nice quality costume that kids can actually wear to school because there's no mask. Would buy again.
