Only worked for one year

I bought and had my contractor install this Kingston Brass DTT208 Tip-Toe Bath Tub Drain, Brushed Nickel in August 2021. It is used only about twice a week an now in April 2023, the push section stopped sealing adequately. I check the gasket for damage and positioning - it's fine, so I'll be replacing it. I paid $20.64 in 2021, and now only 20 months later, Amazon is asking $36 for the same thing. I found the same item cheaper elsewhere.

Beware of cross threading onto your pipe, but good product

Can't give it a full five stars because it's only been a few days since it's been installed. Product came packaged well with no issues. There were no directions that came with the product, but I would assume that if you were purchasing this and doing this yourself that you would at least know what you were doing. The color matches my existing brushed nickel items. All in all I would buy from this company again. Also want to say that the plunger does engage and does not have the problem with the washer flipping up and not sealing. Only problem I had was when I tried to install this it was cross threaded onto my pipe (my issue) and it took me several times to actually realize what was occurring. When I finally realized and got it set straight, things went smoothly and no leaks.

Looks and works well, But...

This brushed nickel model is very sturdy and well made. It looks great (for now) and seals very well. BUT, the problem for me is, if I push down on the plug with water in the tub, I can not get it to seal again! I did this my accident and had to completely drain the tub after only having it filled for 5 minuets. Again, if I did not push it down, the seal would have kept the water in the tub until I was ready to get out, and then drain the water out. So if it did not do this, I would have given 5 stars. Maybe if I replace with a rubber gasket that is thicker (like the Denco brand people are talking about) it may work 100%?!?

nice and strong brass push stoppers

The media could not be loaded. The package was simple. Some fell out of the packaging, but were not damaged. There’s no instructions, but it was easy enough to follow or look up installation for a new drain ( which is what I did) The spring feels sturdy and the parts are all brass metal except for the part encapsulating the spring “push” mechanism. It is not flushed to the tub as I had hoped, but I’m okay with that. Just as long as it can withstand the wear. The water here is pretty hard, and the ones I had on had a lot of mineral deposits, but I’m not sure how long it has been since the Previous owner had it. The brushed nickel color is nice as well. I purchased 4 to replace all my tubs at home.

Make sure you know which size you need, and buy a drain tool

This is the larger 1-1/2 inch size. When I ordered, I didn't know at the time how to get proper drain measurements, and found that what I actually needed was the 1-1/4, which is only sold in a set with a 1-hole overflow drain cover, from this company (totally on me, but the $7 return shipping was a lesson learned). Also, using a proper drain tool will help with install. For proper install, besides the drain tool, make sure you use plumber's putty on the washer, and again on the threads if not plumber's tape, to avoid any leaks.

Solid!

This thing has weight. It is solid and installed nicely. YES , like others I have a slight raise at the drain but took care of it as I had access from underneath. Get some plumbers putty and everything is copacetic. I was impressed by how solid this thing was.

Works like a charm

We threw out our old drain flange without thinking, as we assumed they were all a standard size. Big mistake. After looking everywhere else for a replacement, and even considering having a machinist friend make one, we took a chance on this one. Works like a charm! Great product.

Perfect

So far I love this. Use your hand to push and fill tub and foot to drain tub. Holds water great and undo it and it holds hair that would have been trapped.
