Good from far.

It looks good from afar, perhaps when driving by your home, but upon closer inspection, a lot left to be desired. It seems the price for outdoor wall sconces are quite expensive to begin with, and for this style, it is considered "reasonable." The body is plastic, and I get the feeling it will fade yellow fairly quick outside in the elements. Also, the plastic is too thick, and lacks any sort of transparency - as far as light transmittance, it is not efficient at all. But, perhaps an unexpected benefit (or maybe intentional) is that you get quite a bit of diffusion and the light is soft, even if only illuminating a very small area. There's a silicone seal around the plastic cap, to shelter the bulb from the elements, although you will need a good seal on the backside as well. I get that this is designed purely for cosmetics, as the light output is sub-par, but makes for a very visible architectural piece that is not blinding at night. Works well for my home in the Hollywood Hills, where every neighbor seems to have a brushed steel light of some sort. For reference, I used a 60watt incandescent bulb for this evaluation.

I didn't feel like returning them

One facet I don't think anyone has commented on is the brushed nickel finish. It actually is more of a glossy nickel finish which is readily apparent in the daytime. It is not matte at all. I didn't notice this until they were installed and, at that point, I didn't feel like returning them.The sealed box house has its upsides (in a wet climate, the bulb is protected) but in a dry climate, its just a hassle to unscrew the house to get to the bulb.

Mostly cheap plastic

The metal face looks okay - but the rest of the fixture is very cheap plastic. It feels like about $5 of cheap plastic with a $10 metal cover. I would not buy again and I'm already looking for a different fixture to replace it.

Turned Yellow

It was great while it lasted. After 1 year the white plastic turned so yellow that you could easily notice from the street. The lights looked like they came yellow and brown, pretty awful looking. It's a shame cause we really liked them at first.

Kichler Outdoor Sconce

Nice looking fixture. Would of liked to of seen more information on the light bulb housing, as it will take some undoing to change the bulb.

Expensive Looking - Quality

I love how the bulb is enclosed so you don't get webs or gunk inside. Looks VERY expensive! Is just what we were looking for. Affordable brushed nickel items are difficult to find. I would buy this again and recommend it.
