EASY WAY TO STRENGTHEN THIS BRILLIANT PRODUCT

I have HEAVY stuff with fat legs on thick, deep pile. Another reviewer made me concerned that the bits holding the four sections together were too fragile and would collapse under heavy furniture. When I got them, I realized that they WOULD snap apart because of the shapes of my bed legs. I simply went to TAP and got some1/4" HDPE (because the color matches the bed legs) and had them cut 4" x 4" pieces. The result is REALLY sturdy. Now I'm going to get more for my very heavy sofas. I'm really happy - and relieved. This is the ONLY product I found with 5/8" spikes so I made it work. Depending on how heavy your furniture is and the shape of the end of the leg, the furniture could slide around. If that were the case, I'd add a thin layer of rubber or synthetic equivalent between the reinforcement and the furniture leg.

Answered my problems

Prior to finding these "carpet grippers", my 2 glass chair mats would float constantly and it became quite annoying to have to adjust them on a daily basis. I attached these to the bottom of the glass on each corner, using Gorilla clear tape and they haven't moved since. So glad these exist and highly recommend for my use case.

3/4” not 5/8”; does NOT hold chair mat in place

I bought clear double-sided tape as another review mentioned the adhesive tape doesn’t hold well and is unsightly on a clear mat like I have. The tape I bought holds great and was cheaper than the Gorilla brand. As for the product itself, these squares were easy to break apart and apply to my polycarbonate desk chair mat. Overall, they work far better than velcro or tape on the bottom of the mat, but my mat still moves. I have deep pile carpet so I bought the 5/8” size, which should have been perfect according to my paper clip measurement (my pile is exactly 5/8” deep); however, the spikes themselves (not including the platform part) were 3/4” tall and were far too tall in my deep pile carpet. They held up my chair protector everywhere they were and it sagged between them. In addition, the mat still moved. So, I ground the spikes down to 5/8” and tried again. It now works better than before, but my mat still migrates at least 3” both ways every day. I am going to have to drill holes in my mat and tie it between my desk legs to try to assist the spikes in holding it in place.

Prevent sliding so perfect

I have a glass office chair pad that is over an area rug. It kept sliding around until I got thes grippers. Very pleased

That they do what they say they will do.

I have bought these to go on a piece of glass that I have bought to go under our computer chair. Well the glass shifts out of line so I bought these to go on the glass to stop my glass from shifting on our carpet..they came with white double sided tape that wouldn't look to good cause you can see that white tape through the glass. So I bought some double sided clear tape to replace the white tape that came on these... And gorilla tape is the best because it won't turn yellow later like most tape.

Buy the longer spikes if using medium pile carpet with a 1/2" pad.

The choices were 3/8 or I believe 3/4 spikes, but it may have been 5/8 inch. At any rate, I should have purchased the Longer spikes, as the 3/8 inch cut down the sliding of a 39x47x .2 inch clear plastic carpet pad. However it definitely did not stop it. My fault, I should have purchased the longer ones as I have a medium grade carpet with 1/2 inch premium pad. I broke the two 4x4 inch pieces into 4 2x4 inch pieces, then applied them at a 45 degree angle on all four corners. The 3/8" just doesn't grab enough of the carpet.

Misleading sizing

I needed two, 4" x 4 " square pieces (as a single solid piece), this is not that. These are meant to be broken apart into 2" x 2" squares (8 in the package). Had to return.

Quality plastic

Excellent product. Just what I needed for my new deep pile carpet. Spike are long, strong and self adhesive. You get 8 in this pack. Amazon shipped this in like 2 days from USA to UK!! Just wish someone made a deep pile round one.

Saves the carpet!

These are unlike other spiked carpet savers - these are so much better in that the height of the spikes means the furniture sits above the carpet and underlay and does not impact and compress - fantastic!

For best results use the plastic cutter tool!

Because it didn’t fit (too large), I used the plastic cutter to cut to the right sizes. End result - various sizes and quite solid when installed. Highly recommend.
