Better than WIss
I needed some long nose cutters to cut flooring so i bought these and some Wiss , Irwin wins hands down. They cut better and are better made, the lock to keep them closed broke on the Wiss the first hour, Plastic.

Great for frustrating packaging
I keep them in the kitchen for opening touch plastic packaging that destroys (springs the blades) scissors. Yep, they also work as tin snips.

Not recommended for cutting gutter guards
I purchased this product after reading a review written by someone who said that he had arthritis and that this tin snip was good for cutting the gutter guards he was installing. I had purchased Easy On Gutter Guards at Costco, and I found that this tin snip was basically useless for cutting the aluminum rails of the gutter guard, but it was good for cutting the gutter guard's mesh screen. To cut through the gutter guard's aluminum rails, I had to use Fiskars bypass loppers, which gave me the leverage I needed to cut through the thick aluminum. Although this Irwin tin snip seems to be well constructed, it didn't help me with the task that I purchased it for. I later learned that the gutter guard manufacturer recommends a different brand of tin snip for cutting the guards.

Nice Snips
I like to have a set of yellow (neutral) snips around the hose for cutting about everything. These are a lot nicer than the standard short blade snips for my projects. They cut nails, tin, aluminum gutters, wires, and even paper!

Made Well and Cuts Easily at a Fair Price
I bought these along with a Klein Tools Offset Snip that cost $10 more. I like the offset design of the Klein Tools snip but these Irwin snips are superior in every way. First, they're pretty comfortable to hold in an average sized hand. Second, the spring is very strong and smooth, making it easy to open and close the blades. And third, they cut far better than the Klein Tools snip. Although they're made in Taiwan and the Klein Tools snips are made in the USA, the design and build appear to be as good on the Irwin snips.

Nice long reach snips
Got these for an addition that involved a small vinyl siding job. Comfortable handle and sharp blades. Better than my old Wiss snips.

Solid buy for sheet metal workers, wouldn't recommend for general metal cutting.
solid snips for cutting thin metals like metal studs, metal trim, or metal sheets. But with thicker metals the blades tend to dislocate unless you apply tension at the perfect angle at the bottem of the cut as you cut. I think this happens because of the lengh of the blade. My typical use is just cutting through metal things, doesn't have to be clean, doesn't have to be precise, just needs to cut whatever it is out of the way..I've had a much easier time with shorter side cutters than these. So I wouldn't recommend these if you're looking for a general purpose metal cutter. But if you work with a lot of thin sheet metal that require a lot of lengthy cuts (strait or curved) with a decent amount of precision in your practice, then these feel like the most efficient I've seen outside of power tools.

There's much better out there
I've used metal sheers for over a decade and at first I thought these were great but they quickly started to stick when cutting. Worst thing about sheers is when they don't open back up after you make a cut and you have to pry them open to keep cutting.

This is great for big cuts, but for the smaller detailed work I went back to my old tin snips.
