The bits are well made, and cut well. This I would expect from Freud, which has always had my respect for quality. However, the lack of any instructions leads to trial and error. Once the user is familiar with the set up, and the use of the included shims....the bits produce good results. I would definitely purchase these bits again, and would have given them 5 stars, if it weren't for the lack of guidance in their use.

Great for thinner paneling

I used this bit set to remill the tongue and grooves on around 500 square feet of reclaimed cedar boards. As part of the reclaimation I had to plane the boards down to about 1/2" thick as well as saw off the old damaged tongue and grooves. This bit in an improvised router table did the job. My only gripe is that I wish there was a groove cutter that was sized between the thick and thin groove blades included.

smooth

It is a nice smooth woorking bit but difficult to set up with having a dozen thin washers. Great that it works on carriages thicknesses though

Freud 99-472 ????

This is hard to work with. The smaller blade used to make groves damaged itself on first use. This was because the blade spinned within the system and hit the ajoining parts. This should not have happened if designed correctly.

Another great and dependable Freud cutter.

It did a beautiful job of making a large amount of Wainscotting from 5/8" thick cedar material. I am very happy with the cutter's performance.
