Cheap but work

Should've been made a little stronger. I have forgottem a few times and basically destroyed some and now have to buy mew to replace those. It is what it is for the price and do work. As long as you're paying attention and remember of they're in the locked position.

Don't waste your money - Extremely flimsy

I have old windows that still have some of the original window locks. Strong & sturdy. I just assumed that is how they are all supposed to be, considering it is supposed to keep an intruder, using force, from opening the window. I installed them with the provided nails very easily. Smiling and proud of how good it looked, I opened the window. Not even using much pressure, the darn things buckled. At another window I opened the lock flap to see if the window would be able to glide over it easily and the joint of the flap easily broke off, but not enough to get out of the way to raise the window. Disappointed I didn't try to put these up sooner, so I could actually get a refund. I bought 10.

Total win. Use the correct length nails!!

I purchased several of these for my downstairs windows and installed them myself. Thankfully I read the instructions first. Double paned windows need A DIFFERENT LENGTH NAIL THAN WHAT'S INCLUDED!! I took the included nails to Lowe's and got a shorter length. At first it was frustrating to put them in, but once I figured it out, I used some scotch tape and easy peasy. Now I can leave the windows open a crack to vent out the basement (radon area) without worry.

"not recommended for dual-pane windows"

The instructions that come with it states: "not recommended for dual-pane windows". (See the photo.) Does the listing say anything about this? I have dual-pane windows, and this lock did not work. 2 issues: The space between the top and bottom window frames is too far. After filling that space with a cutout board, and installing the lock with screws instead of the nails that come with it, the lock failed to work. The windows will not be stopped by a wedge shape, instead, the window slides over the lock.

They worked on my windows

After a long search I finally found something that would work with my windows. Had to drill new holes for mounting, not a big deal, to not have mounting hardware not hit the frame of thermopane window glass.

Tiny

Like most things on Amazon, it is photographed with a zoom lense. I will install one on each side but they are small and have tiny brads to install it with, no screws.

Don’t waste your money

It looks like a great deal. But after a day it broke. The steel is so thin that the hinge failed and fell apart. Don’t buy this!! I would have posted a picture but it’s not worth me digging in the trash for it. Yeah it’s in the trash and that’s where your money will go!! Buyer beware!!!
