Shower valve rebuild kit

These saved the day for our old Gopher bathtub fixtures

Our valves were leaking and handles were corroded to ugly due to the leaking on our old Gopher bathtub fixtures. We found a nice replacement bathtub wall spout locally. But it looked like we would have to do more major plumbing in a very, very, tight space if we had to replace the valves to something else locally available. This trim kit delayed that extra plumbing, they worked great for us. Gopher was later taken over by Union Brass, and now Danco still allows us to continue to use this version of plumbing yet. Thanks Danco!

Great product, Use plumber's grease

Great to rebuild my old shower fixture. Make sure you tighten the valve gasket screws, mine were not tightened. Also, use plumbers grease on the inner stem and all threads and under the handle screw if you ever want to get it apart. Removed a star - the stem washers were too big, I found the correct washers at my local hardware store.

Quality control not great.

It took me forever to figure out the manufacturer of my shower fixtures, but this is the product I needed. The issue is the packaging and quality control. The clam-shell package had a split all along the bottom edge. I initially thought that it was missing a part, but then I found it in the incorrect compartment. And one of the exterior pieces that runs between the flange and the handle came marred. The hex corners are all bend up. I'm not sure how that happens, and if I hadn't needed to install the hardware I probably would have returned it.

Perfect replacement

This is exactly what I needed to replace the one I had. It was extremely difficult to find this only one that fits what is installed now.

Almost perfect replacement

Not happy that I had to go out and purchase different seats due to the ones in the kit being a different size thread, but with the additional $10 for the correct sized seats, it all went together in 15 minutes, and works great.

Works well

If you have Union Brass handles than you dont have many options for replacement. This kit was the exact replacement for what I had and worked as well as I could hope for

Wobbly and imprecise?

They installed easily enough but the cold water stem is very "wiggly", feels like it's going to fall off and does not control the flow well at all.

Excellent kit

This kit is great everything fit perfect. Would recommend it to anyone.
