Perfect camper hitch

It saved our lives!

First and foremost we are all ok BECAUSE of this hitch! We were hit by a drunk driver and was driving about 80mph, we were going about 60. He tried to merge between us and another vehicle. He hit the gard rail bounced off of our pickup, hit the gard rail again and bounced in the back of our camper, which caused a giant hole on the right side. Our vehicle did not sway or move from our lane at all because of this hitch!!! Our camper is totaled, but everyone is ok! The crappy part is that we JUST bought our camper and this was our first camping trip out with it.

Not for long trailers over 25 ft.

Like StyleMP said. Leveling okay. Sway..no good. F250 towing 8500 lbs. Toy Hauler should not have this kind of "drama" going down the road... Moving on to Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control.

works great

i didnt install this. it was very heavy and my boyfriend and his adult son installed it. it took them about an hour. so far we have only have taken the camper on a short local trip only about 30 miles no highway yet. the sway is not as bad as before. we are very pleased so far with this. we have a longer trip in a few weeks and will review then since we are going about 200 miles from home we will see how it pulls.

Know what you are looking for before you buy

I used it to tow a 8,350 LB travel trailer with my Sierra 1500 for a nine hour drive. It works great to distribute the weight. No complaints there. If you are looking to eliminate sway completely, these types of weight distribution/ sway control devices are not what you are looking for. I ended up returning this and buying the 3P hitch costing me six times as much money. However, you can't put a price on safety and comfort. A few items to note: I am not unexperienced in towing large heavy trailers, as I have been pulling 8,000 LB trailers and boats for years, and I know how to remediate trailer sway. Also, I have nothing negative to say about this hitch VS it's competitors. I am just saying research some of the more expensive ones first, before you make up your mind.

Beat Customer Service of All

Easier to install than I thought it would be but the real plus was customer service. Had to get a couple very heavy bars replaced because the were too heavy for the packaging and the peeps at Curt were very professional and sent out a new bar (twice) yeah it broke the box twice. But they didn’t even flinch. Nice doing business with a Made in America company.

Dramatic reduction in trailer sway

This hitch works really well for reducing sway. I was a bit skeptical when I ordered it, but am so glad I did. Towing the holiday trailer is no longer a white knuckle experience.
