Wearing Them Right Now

I’m 5’-8” 134lbs and ordered a size 28x10. Fits true to size, although having short legs I would have preferred the 8” version that was out of stock. The fabric is flexible, breathable and very durable. These qualities along with the mesh pockets and light weight make for a confortable great pair of hiking shorts.

Fit not entirely what I expected but I like them

I have two pairs of Colombia's normal "Silver Ridge" cargo shorts and they are a little lighter fabric. This "stretch version" is just that--stretchier--but also thicker, more robust. They seem like they'd hold up to some abuse, and as a result, I'll consider them a good option for backpacking or hiking in warmer weather. I bought my normal size--32--and by the pics I expected them to be fairly "slim" fit. They're more like a normal fit...definitely not baggie, but not super trim either; kind of in the middle. I'm 6'2 34'' inseam and got the shorter 8'' inseam version. They're just about as short as I would go without being too short. I asked my girlfriend if they looked too "Chad" or "Magnum PI"...she said "nope" so there's that. Overall very comfy--they breath very well and feel great on hot summer days.

It's the perfect pair of shorts

Deep front pockets and ... this is important ... pocket openings that are not vertical but more like angled slits. Waaaay easier to get your hands in and, I suppose, if you added a few pounds (the COVID 19, as I'm calling it), the pockets don't flail open. Back has additional stretch just in case. Zipper pocket on right side. Grab a nylon belt for when you eventually lose those COVID 19 lbs. I'm literally wearing them now. I have 4 or 5 different colors. Goes with anything.

Good fit and comfortable

These have more of an "everyday wear" look to them compared to the standard Silver Ridge shorts I purchased a few years ago. These have one less cargo pocket but that's not a deal breaker for me. They don't have a belt like the other pair so I'll probably use that one. They dry fast. More comfortable with the soft lining inside the waist.

Good nylon shorts for the price.

The Silver Ridge 2 fit true to size and workmanship is good. Keep in mind, the material is not as soft as cotton. But what manufacturers are doing with Nylon now'a days is pretty impressive. It makes for a very light, water resistant fabric with stretch. The Silver Ridge 2 are not as soft or premium a fabric as my Patagonia Quandry or Outdoor Research Ferrosi shorts, but the price reflects that. The Columbia shorts are a good nylon summer short at a reasonable price. And lots of colour choices. Recommended.

Happy with purchase

Bigger guy who has trouble finding well fitting outdoor gear. These met my expectations for both true to fit (size 42) and doing the job. Maybe a little less stretchy than I like in an outdoor short but still good.

F'ing love these shorts!

They fit fantastic, not too wide in the leg which I find hard to find in a 36 waist. they are a little swishy because of the stay dry material, but also nice and light as a result. 5 stars.
