Thought I would post my review, after reading a couple other reviews, there seems to be a lack of information out there. I ordered this watch simply because it looked beautiful, and was curved, which is unheard of in the wrist watch world. The movement itself is curved, and per Bulova, this is the first curved quartz chronograph movement produced. This is no easy feat, and the fact they are providing you with a unique curved chronograph movement, that operates at 262 kHz (high frequency quartz from the precisionist line, and extremely accurate, more so than your regular quartz movement) is also awesome to have in this watch. The other area that I derive my value from, is the fit and finishing. I won't go into too much detail about the high freq quartz, but I know it has something to do with the method in which Bulova/Citizen shaped the quartz crystal in the movement to get a higher and more precise frequency (8+ times higher?), thus more accurate... Regardless, the seconds hand does beat twice per second, as opposed to one tick per second, which isn't the smooth hand from the precisionist, but I believe this must have something to do with it being in the subdial or the seconds hand serving as both the seconds hand, and the chronograph seconds hand. You click the bottom pusher to switch between a regular seconds hand, and chronograph mode, which isn't really frustrating, nor is it a difficult concept to deal with, as others may suggest. My true love for this watch lies with the finishing of the watch itself. The dial is beautiful with applied indices and subdials that really pop. The finishing on the case is absolutely amazing, and catches the light beautifully, despite being a dark watch. The case and lugs transition from a fine brushed finishing, to a high shine polish, and it is gorgeous. At this point you can really see the difference in finishing comparing this to a sub-200 watch. I would even say the finishing on this piece is in line with many entry level Swiss watches, and even better in some cases. The bracelet is also one of the strongest points of the watch. It also has a fine brushed finish, with a high polish on the inside of the links, that make it looks like ceramic or onyx. The bracelet is sturdy and well executed, with a butterfly clasp which is also colour matching and finished to a high polish. There is no doubt that Bulova provides some exceptional value in the dial design and finishing department. The water resistance is a bit unfortunate, at 3ATM, but due to the caseback being literally screwed in, I suppose this was a limitation in making a curved watch. The watch is fairly heavy, however sits well on your wrist due to the curved case, and is generally very comfortable. However with the solid steel band, you can definitely feel the heft to it. The unfortunate thing is that switching out bands may be difficult due to the curvature of the watch, however the good thing is that the bracelet is so stunning, nothing else really compares, or is worth switching it out for. Overall, the MSRP, is probably correct, for the total package and value you are receiving, it feels and looks like a $800-1000 watch. If paying retail, it has to be something you really adore. However purchasing it on Amazon at a more affordable price between $300-450, makes it a no brainer for the most part if you want to add something unique, and something that has a good bang for your buck, to your collection. Absolutely worth the money, IMHO, and is absolutely stunning in every way.
