Spring is not Stainless Steel and Rusts

Had these for about 4 years now and typically wash the gripping ends by hand. Every so often, they get put in the dishwasher. Now I notice that there is hardly any spring tension and upon examination the spring is severely rusted. Rest of the tongs are not rusted. The bakelite pieces are still fine. Usability comments: The long length is good for reaching the back of my large grill. I liked the flat part of the gripper end as it is like a mini spatula and eases lifting off fish or meat that sticks to the grill. However, lifting large marinated pieces requires more pressure to prevent slipping. Sometimes it can be a challenge to lift small pieces. I just use a smaller tong with teeth on both ends of the gripper for initial lifting. I prefer not to have two tongs out at the grill but its not a big deal.

Well designed and appears to be a bit better made than other brands

I've only used this grill tong a couple of times but that's enough to really like it. I've used various grill tongs over the years and most worked well...at least for a time. The problem with all of the decent ones I've used has been the rivet in the pivot spring area that holds the two sections together. That little cheap rivet eventually breaks and makes the tongs unusable. I wish makers would use a bolt/nut/washer arrangement but I suppose that would cost more and it would also have a tendency to loosen over time with loss of parts likely. The Broil King also uses a rivet to hold the tong halves together but the rivet they use appears of superior quality to and somewhat thicker than any of the previous tongs I've used. I guess time will tell if it wears out like the other tongs but it does give one confidence. The design of these tongs also seem superior to me. Not only are they heavier duty metal but one side of the tong is flat like a spatula while the other side has rounded teeth. This allows one to slide the tong under the food item easily with the spatula side while gripping it with the tooth side. It works well for burgers and steaks. Heavy items will still need a second tool or hand for lifting to prevent dropping it. The only negative I can come up with concerning these grill tongs concerns the plastic trim on the pivot end that covers the spring joint. That piece was press fit and it came off immediately. No big deal, it doesn't affect function and it really doesn't affect the cosmetics of this tool much at all. So far I'm luvin' this grill tong.

Good quality but heavy

First of all the quality is very nice! It matches my BroilKing Pro grill (that's the reason I bought it lol ) and because I use with Broil King grill it does not fall of when the cover is put on or taken off but there is a huge down side for me, hence 4 stars, it is very heavy.

Very useful tool!

Finding this tool very useful for all my grilling. The flat side slips under your food, the ridged side gets a good grip. Rarely use my spatula or fork any more. Nice heavy duty construction allows you to handle heavier cuts of meat without worry. Extended reach keeps your hands out of the heat. I'd like it better if the locking mechanism was steel not plastic. Still, I'd buy another and consider it a must have grilling tool.

Stout multi-purpose BBQ tool

These are without a doubt the sturdiest BBQ tongs I’ve ever owned. I can easily lift the red hot heavy cast iron grate on my Lodge Sportsman’s Grill. They are great for recharging and arranging charcoal during grilling. The flat side is great for flipping burgers or getting underneath steaks. The spring lock works great and the heavy duty stainless steel cleans up with ease.

Die beste auf dem Markt!

Als ambitionierter Hobbygriller habe ich schon unzählige Grillzangen ausprobiert. Die Broil King war schon immer die beste in Sachen Verarbeitung und Zugriff auf das Grillgut. Lediglich für kleine Hände nicht zu empfehlen, denn sie ist etwas sperrig und erfordert ein Mindestmaß an Kraft in der Umsetzung. Aber wenn man eben nicht nur Supermarktsteaks und Würstchen grillt, sondern auch mal Ribs oder größere Fleischstücke auf dem Smoket hat, braucht man auch großes Werkzeug. Hier ist die Zange ideal. Mit dem Wender kann man zudem super Grillgut vom Rost lösen, das etwas hartnäckiger am Rost festhält. Trotz all dieser Vorteile habe ich bisher andere Zangen verwendet, denn die Broil King hatte einen entscheidenden Nachteil: Man musste den Schließmechanismus zum Entriegeln ziehen und zum Verriegeln drücken. Ich bevorzuge es umgekehrt. In der neuen Edition ist das nun endlich auch bei dieser Zange möglich, den Griff schnell auf den Oberschenkel zu drücken, um die Zange mit eine einfachen Bewegung zu öffnen, wenn man am Grill Tempo braucht. Seitdem ist sie meine klare Nummer eins.

Einfach die Beste

Grillzange die ich kenne. Ich habe schon einige ausprobiert: teuer, preiswert, Markenprdukt, No-name, Baumarkt... Keine ist so gut wie die Broil King. Die flache Seite ist einfach optimal um z. B. Burgerpattis zu lösen, aber auch sämtliches andere Grillgut kann damit schonend vom Rost oder der Grillplatte gelöst werden. Die obere, geriffelte Seite hält das Grillgut optimal fest und wenn man die Zange quer hält kann man mit den Riffelungen super Grillwürstchen drehen, ohne jedes einzeln anzupacken. Die Griffweite ist nahezu riesig und mann kann hier auch mal einen Braten, ein Grillhuhn o.ä. auf den Grill (oder wieder weg) befördern. Die Verarbeitung ist top und das Öffnen bzw. Schließen der Zange mittels der Aufhängeöse plappt prima. Der Preis ist zwar recht sportlich, aber letztendlich gerechtfertigt.

Ich war mal begeistert von der Zange

Es it meine Zweite Zange . Die erste die ich hatte, ha eine viel höhere Wertigkeit als die jetzige . Die entsperrung konnte man mit einer Hand lösen weil alles aus Metall war . Die jetzige hat eine Kunststoff entsperrung die viel zu leicht ist und sich leider nicht mehr mit einer Hand lösen lässt . . Und das Metall ist anders . Ich glaube es ist entweder dünner oder minderwertiger als bei den alten Zangen . Eine Seite hatte sich schon verbogen als ich eine große Rinderbrust geräuchert habe und sie runter heben wollte .

gute Zange für stolzes Geld... liegt etwas globig in der Hand

mit sogenannten Sollbruchstellen >> schneller kaputt , dann wird wieder eine Neue gekauft >>> das nennt man modernes Marketing :-( Test: Fast genau so, wie erwartet! Durch die einzigartige (?) Form vereint sie zwei Werkzeuge in einem: Grillzange und Wender. Die eine Seite/Backe hat einen gewellten Rand, die andere ist flach. Mit der spatelförmigen Seite/Backe kann man sehr leicht unter flaches Grillgut fahren und es vom Rost lösen, anheben, Zange zudrücken und wenden. Verarbeitung und Material: nicht schlecht ! Edelstahl, ca. 1 mm (nachgemessen !) Blechstärke statt den oft rezenzierten von 1,8 oder auch 2mm Jedoch das Gelenk könnte etwas stabiler sein. Die Zange schließt nicht ganz parallel. Griffe sind mit Kunststoff belegt. Die Zange ist so lang, dass man keine Handschuhe zum Grillen braucht. ( habe schon Weber, Rösle, Bruzzler u. andere probiert, das ist bisher die BESTE - vom Handling her ! )

Eine Zange fürs Leben...

ja das würde ich gerne sagen können. Aber ich hab so viel Freude damit, dass es schon meine zweite ist. Somit sind es meine Zangen fürs Leben ;-) Verarbeitung sehr gut, da klappert und wackelt nichts. Die Zange beginnt auch nicht zu ächsen wenn das Stückchen Fleisch mal etwas größer ist. Im Gegenteil die Freude mit dieser Zange wird immer mehr umso größer das Fleischstück ist. Mir kommt keine andere Zange mehr ins Haus ;-)
