Fits great in the door.

Great quality. Fits in fridge door nicely. I can make my coffee creamer and it is the perfect size. Only wish the top didn’t have to fully come off to pour the contents out.

Nice quality

This pitcher is very nice quality, sturdy with good ergonomics. Not sure why everyone is complaining about the lid, it works perfectly and is very functional. You can let it sit on jug without tightening (my preference) or you can hold the outside ring of it then twist the inner knob to the right and it tightens down however tight you want it. The only negative thing about the jug is after pouring a small drop or two will drip down the outside of the jug, that is the only negative thing anyone can complain about, otherwise it is a great quality jug, totally made in Italy.

Does what we need it to do - and does it well

I use this for fresh orange juice and other fresh juices. I love them because they fit perfectly in the refrigerator door and have a wide mouth to either fit ice in, or clean out. I suppose if I held it upside down and shook it like a bartender, it'll leak...but...I don't do that. It is plenty leak-proof to shake up fresh orange juice - again - if I don't turn it upside down. I know have four of these in different homes and we love them

Great glass pitcher and cap stays sealed!

I don't know why there are so many comments about the cap not working or staying tight. My goodness, it couldn't be easier to "turn the knob" if you tried. The instructions are clear and simple - follow them, and the cap becomes hermetically sealed! And also commenters saying how narrow the pitcher is that they can't fit their kitchen sink brushes in them. What? My brush is normal sized and fits the glass jar perfectly; not sure what gigantic brushes people are using in their kitchen? Anyway, the glass jar washes beautifully (by hand or in the dishwasher) - but as the company states, if throwing the plastic cap in the washer, make sure it sits on the top shelf. The glass container fits beautifully in my fridge side shelf. The handle is a little too close to the body of the jar itself, but not a negative enough to knock down a star. In fact, one could argue that the way the handle was designed (sitting close to the jar) means it won't bump into your other shelves when you close your fridge door (if you keep yours on a side shelf, as many will.) Anyway, just buy it, it's a perfect size for around 33 ounces of liquid. I use mine to hold fresh juiced produce/fruits and it's perfect. Better than sealed jars all over the place. And prettier, too.

Comparisons with same-size Gelo and larger 68 Oz Frigoverre's

This is a very nice, thick glass pitcher that feels very solid. To seal it, you place the lid on top, then twist the middle portion within the top of the lid. I do recommend you leave an inch or two from the top to pour it properly – if I don’t give it that leeway, I end up with liquid on my counter. I purchased three different Bormioli Rocco items at the same time; this one, the "Bormioli Rocco Gelo Jug with White Lid, 41-Ounce" and the "Bormioli Rocco Frigoverre Glass Pitcher with Lid, 68 Ounce". Here’s some comparisons that might help others. In comparison with the Bormioli Rocco Gelo Jug with White Lid, 41-Ounce The lids are where the differences lie - the Gelo lid pops on and off very easily and twists to create a gap. (but I suggest you remove it rather than twist because the opening is not large enough for it to pour properly, so you get a mess if you use it.) The hermetic lid has to be removed completely to pour at all. To seal it, you place the lid on top, then twist the middle portion within the top of the lid to seal it. That lid does provide a very nice tight seal. The Gelo is easier & quicker to use. The Frigoverre’s hermetic lid is preferred where a strong seal is wanted. For some liquids, I will note you can get build-up on the lip that can dry outside the seal, so you might want to get a damp clean paper towel to give it a quick swipe before putting it away to avoid, er, gunk. I'm not sure why the Gelo is listed as 41 oz and the 1 Liter Hermetic claims 39 oz because the glass portion appear to be identical in size and shape. The spouts are identical. The only difference is the Gelo has raised decorative lines and the other does not. In comparison with the 68 oz Bormioli Rocco Frigoverre Pitcher The 68 oz version is roughly two inches shorter than this pitcher. It is also about two inches larger width & breadth. The opening at the top is about an inch wider. This one has the same style hermetic lid as the smaller Frigoverre, just with a larger diameter. Like the others, the glass feels thick and solid. Because it is so stout the center of gravity is low and if you were to push it at the very top, it would be more likely to slide than to fall over. The 68 oz is a better choice if you have less height in your shelf but the tradeoff is for crowded shelves it has a wider footprint. I'd rather have two of the taller 1-liter sizes on my top shelf because I get more height for about the same footprint and I can arrange that same footprint more flexiblly. While I haven’t done it, you could use this to store thicker liquids or even something like a chunky soup because the opening is wide enough for a serving spoon or your hand. (But as other reviewers have noted, you wouldn’t want to introduce large temperature differences as it isn’t tempered glass.) When full, the 68 oz tends to be heavy enough you really need both hands to use it comfortably.

There are things I like but all in all I would say buyer bewarep

I will add pictures with a more detailed report later but I wanted to take time right now to say BUYER VEWARE!! The picture itself is a very handy small size and I like that. The lid, it’s somewhat seals if you crank it in really tight! But I question how long that seal it works on compression pressure would hold up!? Also, The lead construction is such that part of it just pops out in your hand and would most likely be lost quickly. Furthermore the lid, you cannot pour while the ladies on the picture unless you want to fall in your drink plus you cannot wash this picture! Only a very stiff long brush would fit and even at that it’s questionable if you could get the top corners. Plus as another reviewer points out, the inside lid cannot be adequately cleaned and would be vulnerable to build up mold or who knows. All that being said I was going to keep it until I took another look at some of the competing products which I thought I had done before I placed this order! Oddly enough on the same page as this picture and there was another one close to the same size but with a stainless steel lid and for a comparable price! We’ll see if that lid does truly fit and if you can pour it with a lid on but I’m sorry to say this picture Hass to go back mainly because the lid is terrible

The first pitcher was perfect by all reasonable standards, but the second had a lid that was missing the rubber ring which makes the lid functional.

Cool and quality

Really cool pitcher for juices. Quality and weight just right for me. I like the big opening for easy cleaning with a brush and the plastic cover works quite well to seal the container. I like the cover is made of plastic instead of glass (breakable) and makes handling more convenient. Very happy with purchase.

Perfect sturdy jug for dairy

This is absolutely perfect for my coffee cream. The lid seals perfectly every time if you do it like the other review says and hold it down with one hand and twist with the other! Awesome tip! I won't use plastic or stainless steel for dairy and I didn't want something thin or dainty for my coffee cream. This is perfect; sturdy, solid, with a lid to seal it off from the rest of the fridge aromas.

Great product.

So far so good. Got it less than a month ago. The lid at first is tricky but you just have to figure out that you hold it in place with one hand and twist and seal with the other. Works like a charm. Initially received one with no lid, called Amazon customer service, they sent another lid and container out. Received within days. No complaints.

Compré 2. Una de las tapas salió defectuosa, pero sella bien al final

compré 2 jarras. La primera bien. La 2a, la tapa está defectuosa en fabricación, ya que al ensamblar la zona de abrir cerrar, no coincide. Debo girar fuera de la zona entre Open y Close para que cierre hermético y un poco forzado. No pedí devolver porque una jarra si estaba bien y si bien la 2a tenía el defecto mencionado, cumple aún su función de cierre hermético. Sería un relajo iniciar proceso de retorno de una de ellas y lo que implica logística y ambientalmente. Espero que mejore el control de calidad de la marca.

Bormioli Rocco Frigoverre Jug with Hermetic Lid

I bought this jug twice and returned it twice. The lid was NOT airtight, in fact, when the lid was closed it fell out when the jug was tilted ! NOT RECOMMENDED !
