The media could not be loaded. This is a great simple ABC Puzzle. I looked at many until deciding on this one. I think it was a little costly compared to some others but watched it on Amazon and purchased it when the price decreased a bit. I did not want any funny designs, pictures or additional shapes or odd letters...just simple straight forward alphabet puzzle to teach my almost 2.5 year old his ABC's. I chose this one because of the bright colored letters with the matching color underneath the letter. This coloring helps them identify and locate where a piece goes because the shape of the letter, on the board itself, is not exact but even with that, this is to learn ABCDEFG...the order and appearance of a letter, not to just recognize a shape and it's outline. The letters are about 1'' thick and about 1.5"+ in height, which is perfect for him to handle and palm. The letters are made of a hard feeling wood that is light weight, but not cheap. The board is also made of wood (not particle board but looks like layers of thin sheets of wood - balsa wood maybe?). It is lightweight, too but will hold up to normal wear. Measures 11"x 11". Colors are great. They are bright and the painting reminds me of Thomas the Train engines, thin coats of paint so it is solid and hardened. I could see them chipping if they are thrown around or knocked together to make noise, repeatedly, but for a normal use, they should hold up great. And the colors are pretty typical that if a little chip did happen, you could grab a sharpie and color it in. I am using this in a variety of ways - a puzzle to learn ABC's but also to spell and recognize letters on there own. One thing I am doing is placing little velcro dots on the puzzle and back of each piece, so the pieces are not loose and my son can't just dump the puzzle. He is diagnosed as expressive receptive disorder with warning signs for autism and something else. He is really smart, just can't talk well, so he is beyond matching colors and learning those and this was suggested by our therapist. I can take off the letters I want him to have and have him place them back in the puzzle so he doesn't get frustrated with 26 pieces just laying there; doing this way gives him a set limit and he can stay focused for a short attention span he has at his age. Another thing I have done with these puzzle pieces is take a piece of paper, write his name on it, in caps (in time I will do lowercase) and give him the letters from the puzzle, that match his name. He then laid the pieces on his name and spelled out his name. He actually is saying a few of the letters now too, like E and C. I will do this with other words he likes and then do lowercase to get him to start associating the upper and lower case together. I think this is a great multi-purpose educational tool. It has challenged my little man, while also allowing for fun. He was getting so bored with other toys, so this stepped it up.

Not like the one advertised.

The one they sent me had a green outline around the whole board. And the board itself doesn’t seem high quality, there’s space between the layers and overall it feels rough. The letters themselves seem great. Returning it tomorrow.

ABC Wooden Puzzle

I originally saw a similar puzzle at Land of Nod, but could not justify the price ($49.99). So I kept an eye out for a comparable product and finally stumbled upon this puzzle from Bigjigs Toys. The price was more than fair considering how well it's made and the size is perfect for little hands. Overall this is a great learning tool for kids who are more tactile in their learning process. They can hold a three dimensional letter vs the flat puzzle piece, and because of its shape- they can also be stacked like blocks. Great toy- I'm glad we purchased it!

Nice tall letters.

This puzzle is really very nice. My 18-month old son enjoys pointing to the letters and naming them, and picking his favorites up and toddling around with them held aloft, declaring their names in a loud voice. I like the fact that the letter are significantly taller than the puzzle base, as this allows him to pick the pieces up without the lame pegs that most alphabet puzzles have that partially obscure the letters.

Look no further...this alphabet puzzle is the one to buy

We own lots of puzzle. This is probably the highest qu;ality puzzle we have. My one year old daughter loves it. The colors are nice and vibrant. The pieces are nice and chunky and easy for her to grab. I would definitely recommend to buy this puzzle.

Really like this product, it’s helping my 3yr old to start to recognise letters, they’re also of perfect size so I don’t need to worry if my baby gets hold of one, too big for a choking hazard
