Basic But Reliable And Affordable Everyday Digital Sport Watch

I should start by saying that this really a 4.5 star review. I asked my husband to try out this Armitron Sport Men's Digital Chronograph Resin Strap Watch, 40/8470 and test out its functions. He said it set easily and was very comfortable on his wrist. While his wrist is on the narrower side of average, the watch did not feel too big. He thought that the watch band may be a little shorter than the ones on his other digital sport watches, but still worked fine. The only other issue he noticed was that the back light illumination shows up better in very dark lighting conditions versus regular room lighting or daylight. He mentioned that it's amazing that back in the 1980s, a watch like this would be both technologically and stylistically amazing. Now, it's just considered basic. In terms of looks, it takes its design cues from the many shockproof watches that have been on the market for decades. That said, this watch is very reliable and performs all the daily functions you would expect a digital watch to perform, including: LCD display with time, seconds, day and date; chronograph and lap time; alarm; dual time zone; 12-hour and 24-hour military time; and a backlight with a 3-second delay. This watch provides all these useful functions and has a 330 feet (or 100 meters) of water resistance. Best of all, the watch is very affordable (well under $20) and comes in four color schemes, including the Black model we received, Dark Green/Black, Navy Blue/Black, and Red/Black. The Amazon listing shows that the prices vary depending on the chosen color, but are all very affordable. Overall, my husband thought that while this Armitron watch may be considered basic, it is a solidly reliable and very reasonably priced everyday watch.

Solid watch

I got this because I needed a basic watch to wear for work and just around without scratches or damage being an issue. I like that it feels sturdy and doesn’t look gaudy or overproduced. Set up is a bit involved imo but digital watches tend to be like that. I recommend keeping the instructions because getting to certain features requires a bit of button pressing and it will take time to remember what to press and how many times. It has a calendar mode, three 24 hour daily and weekly alarms, a chronograph mode: hours, minutes, seconds and 1/100 of a second with lap operation, a countdown timer, second time zone setting, military time setting, is water resistant to 330 feet, and has an electro luminescent display. So far I like it and look forward to having a solid all around watch.

Out of the Box, Has Some Issues

The media could not be loaded. As I show in my video, I kinda like the watch: it looks great and the time is very visible, which is what I wanted. As for the buttons ... not so great. They worked long enough to set the watch some I'm happy, but they seem not to work any more. Cheap watch. I guess you get what you pay for. Too bad cuz I like the look of this watch.
