Not exactly wide.

I bought wide and upon receiving the boots they fit tight on my metatarsal and a little tighter on the sides of my feet then I would like.but aside from that they feel comfy so if I can break them I’ll be a happy camper.

Great all purpose boot and looks really nice

I am very happy with my boots. They fit a little snug at first but a day later they loosened up and fit perfect. I really couldn’t be happy. Hopefully they will hold up for several years. God bless,

Best boots

Awesome boots. Been wearing red wings, Carolinas and thorogoods for about 15 years. They are comfortable, light, broke in about 3 days with a little oil. You don't get the ankle support like with lace ups. It's my new favorite boot and they look good. Go by the sizing chart, it's accurate

Fits a little smaller than other Ariat boots

This was my second pair and they were not like my first. Seems shorter than labeled by about a half size. Width seemed fine but length was a tad short. Wound up returning these due to fit but based on my experience with my first pair, they would be super comfortable with very little to no break in period. I'd say these would be a good light duty work boot. No safety toe and soft sole so nothing to prevent the toes from getting smashed or a nail going through the bottom.

Greased boots darken color

I wanted to post a picture to help anyone before oiling these boots. Incase they wanted lighter colored boots. I was unsure they would darken a lot. I am satisfied with the boots. Greasing them does darken a whole lot.

The perfect boot for me.

Next update: Man I’ve put these boots through hell. I’ve had them for a couple years and they’re still holding up. They have survived everything from Church, snow, two crazy girlfriends, construction, yard work, hiking, hunting and even a German Shepherd puppy. Still kicking rocks with them Update to original review below; as soon as I treated the leather the character in the boot came out and looks much more similar to the product photo. I attached a picture after applying leather treatment NOT POLISH - I used a non glossy leather water proofing treatment I ordered a half size down based on the other reviews. They fit perfect. I have wanted a pair of boots for a long time that didn’t have the typical heal most cowboy type boots do. I wanted something that was comfortable. I have had a couple pairs of Ariat boots but ended up getting rid of them because they had too much heal for me. I can’t speak for everyone’s style and or preference however for me these are the perfect boot. I have not found another pair anywhere like them. They are lightweight and low profile without the cow-heal you see on most boots. These boots are very comfortable. I’m so happy with them I ordered a second pair in a different color. The leather does not look like it does in the picture on the light brown color but I’m sure with the right leather treatment and break in period these boots will scuff up and look more like the photos.

Perfect Boot for OR!

I already owned normal Ariat Rambler boots for a few years. I recently saw the Rambler Recon boots with the same type of sole as the boots worn by experienced butchers when I used to work in a game processing and taxidermy shop, a few years ago, I knew that these would be perfect for OR. Rambler boots have amazing support and surpass any other type of shoe that I’ve worn (ASICS/Brooks/Vans) when I stood for hours with no break during surgery. These boots are lightweight and with a bare bones design goes well with scrubs, plus them being full leather to protect my feet from bodily fluids and falling surgical instruments was definitely important. The grip is phenomenal and they’re quiet whenever I’m walking around the hospital to not draw any negative attention is great. Simply put, these boots are perfect for OR. I wear a size-11 in Vans, but I wear a size-10.5D in Ariats.

Excellent

Super comfy and good quality! I recommend oiling these as the first pair did crack/split; however, my husband is hard on his boots! The soles in particular are excellent.

Most comfortable boots I own.

Very comfortable and warm. The soft leather is prone to mark however this looks fine.

~ 1 month of wear: Weird stitching but they work well. They fit the role of boots you can throw on quickly and do light tasks. Will update review upon further use
