Cute, but a little thin

As other reviewer’s have stated, this skirt is a slightly thin. My daughter wears it with black tights however (it is winter) and so it is not an issue. Unfortunately I don’t think we could use it as a summer skirt however as then it would be too see-through. I suppose we could get a slip for her, but where do you find slips these days? No one seems to wear them anymore. LOL In any event, I only took off one star because it’s a very cute skirt otherwise and is currently working very well for her. She is a standard size 7 year old. 50th percentile on her growth charts. It comes down to just below her knees.

Amy Byer Girls' Picture Perfect Diamond - Seamed Skirt is a comfortable black skirt for girls. It's true to size and fits well. The diamond shaped seams can't even be seen unless you look really closely, so I don't know why they even bothered making them. This is a basic black, flowy, comfortable skirt designed for everyday wear. It has elastic so that it can fit for a while. This skirt matches well with any shirt. Girls like to wear this skirt. It washes well, but I don't put it in the dryer so that it shouldn't shrink. Instead, I hang it up to dry. This skirt is made of a thin material and therefore may tear. The one that I bought got a few holes after a while. But it's still good, even if it will not last years. I recommend this comfortable girls' skirt.

Appropriate and modest length

Flexible and appropriate and modest length for my daughter’s Christian school and to wear out or to play in. I love the length on my 11th year old because most clothes for her age are too short. And not appropriate for girls to be wearing anywhere. I don’t understand why designers think we want our kids in booty clothes; especially with all the young girls trafficking going on. I hope Amy Byer continues to make more clothes in appropriate length, very flattering!

Perfect Length!

My daughter decided recently that she no longer likes to wear dresses to church, but would like to start wearing skirts instead. I have searched everywhere for modest/age appropriate skirts and have come up empty handed. I purchased two of these skirts(one in a larger size to grow into), and both my six-year-old daughter and I are very pleased. The knit fabric is just heavy enough that it hangs nicely, without being revealing and the paneling gives dimension with movement that makes her want to twirl. My only complaint is that after one washing there appears to be a lot of stray threads to be trimmed. I am hoping that it's not a sign that the skirt will have a short life. However, I am still quite pleased with my purchase, just wishing the quality would improve.

Love It; Will Order a Second

My 11 year old daughter wanted a skirt she could "twirl" around in after watching a program that contained similar skirts. I could not believe how incredibly hard it is to find anything other than very short skirts for young girls; which is okay if that is what you are looking for. After searching for a long time I finally happened upon this skirt. It fit true to size. My daughter is a tiny girl for her age and wears a 7 / 8 girls in pants. I ordered the Medium and it fits her well; just a tiny bit big but not very significant. She has worn it many times. It washed well, retains its color and shape. Easy to care for; I put it in a cool dryer. It comes out looking brand new. Very well made. I will order again from this vendor.
