Bright as day and cheap as dirt
I got two of these to replace aging RAB halogen motion lights. The old ones were rickety and pretty dim for 150W per fixture. I have a long back yard and young kids, so I wanted something brighter (and more efficient) for evening play time. And the Amazon Basics lights are so cheap that experimenting with them isn't too much of a risk. These are certainly bright enough, though not overpowering, and I like the ETL safety certification. Lights in this price point rarely have one, though UL is better. I had some difficulty installing the first one, but that was mostly due to my home's older electrical junction box. I had to tin the leads with solder in order to get a good electrical connection -- the supplied leads are thin, stranded, and fragile, making a good connection to 12-gauge solid copper wire using the supplied wire nuts difficult. Amazon, for the sake of ordinary people, PLEASE PRE-TIN THE LEADS! Either that or supply WAGO connectors instead. Keep in mind that the three LED housings are bulky, so if your mounting location is close to a downspout and/or gutter (my first one was near both), that could affect your ability to freely position the heads. I observed that the "Dusk" setting on the motion sensor kicked on during an overcast, though not dark, day. So I had to keep the setting on "Night". Finally, note that the instructions state that the motion sensor takes two full minutes to warm up after power comes on. The lights will stay on during that time (plus whatever cooldown time you've set, up to 15 minutes). Perhaps the people struggling with their lights staying on did not understand this behavior (or had their light level set too high, so the sensor was continually triggering as they were checking on it). I'll update the review if I experience any problems with the lights in the future.

10 months in use
I mounted the light on a 1 1/2" deep box so room for wiring was not an issue. Mounting, connecting, pretty straight forward - no complications. Motion sensitivity and adjustability excellent. The triple head light is a little limited in movement because on a 180 degree plane there is only so far you can go - that certainly isn't a design issue, but a "use" issue. However, within the first 9 - 10 months the globe fell off of the sensor, I put it back on but it didn't appear the light was working. Checking back on it a couple of weeks later, I noticed the globe was filled with water, I presume that was what made it fall of the first time. The controls were fried. I cannot for the life of me see how water gets in there, but there is obviously a design flaw. The lights still work if I bypass the sensor - so all I need is a new sensor. Lots of luck with that. Amazon service can only tell me it's not eligible for return. I reiterate I'm not looking to return it, but I need a new sensor. They tell me to contact the manufacturer. It was sold by Amazon Basics, and someone suggested "Larzman" was the manufacturer, but I can't find any contact for Larzman and Amazon Basic only wants to sell you more products. This could be a great light, but under the circumstances it is a disposable - and the price is higher than when I first bought it.

Very bright but is difficult to get set up and working.
When first installing or after a power outage (when hardwired and not switched) it is difficult to get the light to work off of motion detection and not just be constantly on. I had to return the first one for a replacement after I couldn't get it to turn off for an entire week even during daylight hours. The second light gave me issues for a couple of days before it started working correctly (had to cycle the power on it a couple times). After a power outage I had to cycle the power again to get it to not be constantly on. I can only imagine how big of a nuisance they would be if I had them wired to switch and turned them off with it regularly. Also I have 2 of them and even with the motion detection settings set identically they do not detect motion the same. One is much more sensitive than the other and picks up motion at a much greater distance than the other. The only reason I've kept them is because they're insanely bright.

Faulty. 3 of 5 purchased had 1 of 3 lights die within a year.
Liked them at first. It has been about a year now and three out of the five lights I bought have a dead light. That means they're operating at 66% efficiency. All those lumens and LEDS don't mean much if they're not working...

Brighter than expected
I really like this product I ordered 1, then installed it and it worked better than I expected. I bought another for another area of my property and it works beautifully there also. I just ordered 2 more for a friend's home we will install next week.

Bulbs Not Always Weatherproof
Love this light. Very bright, good sensors, BUT: one of the sealed bulbs got water in it. I took it apart, cleaned it up, and resealed it was clear silicon similar to the way it appeared to have been sealed from the factory. Now that bulb is flashing And I feel sure it will eventually go out. I cannot find out how to replace one of the bulbs, or even if they are replaceable.

Very well made!
Just received this security light. This review is based on my first impressions. As a home owner, I've own dozens of security lights over the years, and I must say this has got to be one of the best that I've ever had. It is very well made. The base is plastic, however the LED's housing is made of a strong metal material. The installation screws included are made of stainless steel. SPECIFICATIONS Model number: SM-6000-240-3H Motion range: Max. 70 feet (21 Meters) Motion Detection angle: 240 degrees Rated voltage: 110-240V AC, 50/60Hz Color temperature: 5000K Rated wattage: 60W Luminous flux: 6000 Lumen Net weight: 2.8 lbs (1.28kg) IP tating: IP54 (wet locations) Warm up time (to 100%): about 120 seconds For my personal use, I decided to remove the motion sensor. And replaced it with the Ring Spotlight Hardwired Cam (ASIN # B078SGCBXL). They both work great together! I can now control the light with any internet connected device, from any location around the world. I will upgrade this review in a few years, to speak about performance and durability. Hope this review help others make a purchase decision.

Bright light

Lumens output misleading
Installed this fixture about 10 feet above the sidewalk on the side of the house to light up the driveway pad. Light output does not produce the 6000 Lumens of light intensity as stated. It lights about one third of the driveway pad with a nice even light. I have yet to find a light that will produce enough light output to span the 3 car garage pad adequately and to my complete satisfaction.
